It's unclear what the exact nature of Letby's relationship with "Doctor U" was. What do you think?

Was Lucy Letby having an affair with married "Doctor U"? Letby says no, but the prosecution says he was.

In just 3 months (June-September 2016) the pair exchanged 1335 messages, often including love hearts. They went out for meals, “U” bought her chocolates, and colleagues were aware of their “friendship” - when Letby messaged “Nurse E” about a message “U” had sent her, “E” asked if he had asked her to “go commando” (meaning to not wear underwear). Letby replied with 4 laughing emojis - however, at trial she absurdly insisted she did not know what “go commando” meant. “E” continued by saying that the two flirted with each other, to which Letby responded that she didn’t flirt with him and “certainly [didn’t] fancy him”.

In May-June 2017, almost a year after Letby was removed from the ward, “U” went on 5 “dates” with her, including a day trip to London. He even successfully arranged a placement for her at his new job at Alder Hey hospital, at which Letby shadowed nurses while they worked with patients.

In one dramatic moment at trial, as “U” began to give evidence, Letby began to cry and attempted to leave the dock. This was the strongest display of emotion from her throughout the trial by far, and one of very few occasions when she displayed any emotion.

On multiple occasions during cross-examination, Letby appeared to accept the assertion that she had a boyfriend; for example, when asked “You had a house, you had a car, you had a boyfriend?” she responded “yes”. On another occasion, the prosecutor referred to her attempt to walk out when “her boyfriend” began giving evidence. Letby did not dispute the assertion that “U” was her boyfriend, she simply said that she did not feel well.

A note found in Letby’s home read “I loved you and I think you knew that”, along with “U”s name - which was surrounded by love hearts.

So what was the nature of their relationship? Were they just close friends, or was “U” Letby’s boyfriend?

Forced to apologise to a nurse he had never heard of, for asking a colleague to clairify whether he was suggesting a nurse was deliberately harming babies.

The management at the Countess of Chester Hospital should be ashamed,

"Dr McCormack said neonatal lead consultant Dr Stephen Brearey told those gathered there was "a concern that a nurse was causing intentional harm to babies upon the unit".

Dr McCormack said: "I said: 'Are you saying that a nurse on the unit is a murderer?' And he replied: 'Yes.'

The first he said he knew there had been any concern at what he had said in the meeting was when he received a phone call from medical director Ian Harvey to go to his office.

"I walked into his office, sat down with him and he (Mr Harvey) said: 'You are going to have to make an apology to Lucy Letby.'

"Now, I didn't even know who Lucy Letby was. At that meeting of the paediatricians Steve Brearey didn't say the name of the person, nor whether it was male or female."

The doctor denies knowing who Lucy Letby was until he was asked to apologise to her seven months later.

Fayed's s*xual assaults on women were known and reported in Vanity Fair in 1995 - yet he was able to continue his abuse for another two decades. Why?

Why is it that despite repeated allegations of s*xual assault by former Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed being reported to police - and published by journalists - no action was ever taken against him?

Between 2008 and 2023 5 women accused Fayed of s*xual assault - yet he was never charged.

Senior Met Police detectives and commanders were allegedly given bribes in the form of money and expensive hampers of luxury goods for being "a particularly great help" to Fayed - exactly what "help" was that?

Was Fayed allowed to abuse women without any consequences for almost 30 years because he gave senior Met figures bribes and expensive hampers?

The wronfgul conviction of Andy Malkinson is a stain on the justice system, made even worse by the clear corruption of the police and CPS. This is a travesty.

An outrageous miscarriage of justice that involved police and CPS corruption, which allowed the true perpetrator to walk free.

The true perpetrator's saliva DNA was found on the victim's clothing, at the area where her attacker bit her. He is a convicted s*x offender. He has still not been charged.

This is a stain on the justice system.

In the NHS England submission to the Thirlwall Inquiry they admit that:

A) "sufficient curiosity was not engaged by NHS England (and others) at the point of being informed about the increase in cases involving the unexpected decline of neonatal babies who were otherwise considered clinically well."

B) "The North West ODN was aware earlier than the NHS England North Specialised Commissioning Regional Team about the increase in morbidity and mortality, but their understanding of their remit and assumptions about others performing their prescribed roles means that this information was assumed to be acted upon appropriately elsewhere, and in particular by the Hospital."

C) "The Hospital Board as a whole, and individuals on it, lacked curiosity about what they were being told"

D) "Too much time was allowed to lapse before the Police became involved."

While Lucy Letby is clearly a murderer, by their own admission NHS England failed miserably in their response to the sudden spike in deaths and collapses at the Countess of Chester.

Senior managers must be held accountable, and criminal charges should be considered.

Understanding today’s violence against Native American women requires confronting our brutal past.
