A truck carrying logs en route to Ntinda Industrial Area flipped over on Ntinda road after the driver lost control on Tuesday afternoon blocking off traffic for hours. According to the driver, the truck's brakes failed as it sloped from Ntinda, Kampala before it knocked another trailer that was waiting at the traffic lights and it ended up reversing to the gas station.

Update: The EAC Council of Ministers has appointed Uganda's Deputy Secretary General, Annette Ssemuwemba, to act as Secretary General until a new appointment is made.

This decision follows Kenya's former SG, Dr. Peter Mathuki, being appointed as Kenya's ambassador to Russia. Ssemuwemba, who previously oversaw customs, trade, and monetary affairs at EAC, assumed her new role on April 16, 2024.

The police in Mpigi have registered a single minor road traffic crash at Muduma in Jezza along the Kampala-Mityana Road involving a tailor.

The road has been completely cut off. The trailer lost control due to brake failure, overturned, and caught fire in the middle of the road.

This is to inform the general public to be patient as our teams of Traffic Police, fire brigade, and the area police are working hard to ensure the removal of the wreckage and secure the highway for road users to pass.
