Come out for our big yard sale with all proceeds going towards the payment of the Bettie Page historical marker, which will be located in downtown Nashville near Hume-Fogg high school! This yard sale / fundraiser will have everything from collectibles, women's clothing, oddities, halloween stuff, tons of wall art / framed stuff, VHS movies, home decor, home goods, records, comics, ect! We will also have a limited number of commemorative posters. It will be on Lillard Road (it's a super short road, just look for the signs) and starts at 8 am sharp. No early birds of course.
Why are we having this sale? I'm glad you asked! Earlier this year, I sent a proposal to the city of Nashville's historical commission about why they should approve a historical marker for Bettie. I proposed that the best place to put it would be near her high school, because that is the place that Bettie excelled at. She was second in her class and was in nearly every club and every extracurricular activity. She was also voted most likely to succeed by her classmates.
The city unanimously approved the marker. Part of the deal is that in order to be fair to the general public, the sponsor of the marker has to pay for the actual monument. I knew this going in, and was totally fine with that. I decided that a good way to have fun with it would be to have a big yard sale. That's where you come in!
This won't be your average sale -- everything we put out will be choice material. When I throw a sale, it's like throwing a party. I want everyone to leave satisfied!
The pin-up group Nashville Luscious Ladies will also be on hand with a pop-up booth! It's going to be perfect weather and a really fun time.
