For 5 years, I tracked my progress as a creator heading into VidSummit:

- 2018: 0 subscribers (worked at YT)
- 2019: 0 subs (worked at IG)
- 2021: 9K subs (just left)
- 2022: 66K subs
- This year? 396K subs

Full time. Hired a team. Working with my wife. Supporting our newborn. Living the dream.

Excited to launch a new kind of newsletter, what I hope will be “The New Yorker for creators.” For years, I made weekly cartoons and got hired by companies like Zappos to draw murals. Then I stopped. A lot of you asked why. Or when I'd do it again. Today's the day 😊

I've been working with some of the funniest and top illustrators from The New Yorker, The Economist and more to find our own style.

I think we got something special. It combines insights with illustrations. Learning with a little laughter.

I gotta celebrate my wife for one more sec - she recently made Business Insider's rising stars list of creator managers. All while dealing with the rollercoaster of pregnancy. Most people don't know how much she does behind-the-scenes. For nearly a decade, she led operations for Fortune 500 companies and left it behind to grow our creator business using those same skills. She always thinks critically. Never gets distracted by shiny objects. Points out things in contracts 99% people miss. Keeps our costs on track while supporting our big swings. Friends ask what it's like to work with my wife. Others warned we'd get sick of each other. But the opposite has been true. I feel lucky that our skills are so different yet our values are the same. That we get to share our wins together and with the amazing team we get to work with every day. We're just getting started 🚀

- Friday, 4 PM: Creator Keynote "The Beyoncé Method: How to Reach Billions on a Budget" (Room 204)

I'll also be one of the judges for VidCon's Innovation Showcase (Friday, 9:45 AM) which is like Shark Tank for creator economy businesses.

Surreal moment. I got to interview Terry Crews 🤯 link in bio. We talked about a lot, including:

— How playing in NFL helped Terry build portfolio in art (yes, art)
— Breaking rules of YouTube with his Old Spice ads
— How Terry is deepfaking himself to make movies long after he‘s gone

— Working on a short film with Zach King who I also interviewed and I’m excited to share our video soon

We’re going to be parents ❤️ I’m never been more amazed by Amanda than how she’s handled this pregnancy. The nausea. The hospital visits. And even trips to the emergency room. Maybe this is TMI but nobody prepares you for how hard it is - or at least how hard it’s been for us. I know one thing for sure, our baby girl will have an incredible role model in her mom. A dad who will be there for her and crack dad jokes way too often. Oh, and a dog who will have to get used to being second fiddle 😅 I want to especially thank our parents who have been there for us and everyone who supported and gave advice along the way. Parenthood here we come!!

Now vs Then 😊 10 years ago, I met and she published my 1st article ever for The Huffington Post. This weekend, I got to interview her on stage at 's event.

That moment changed alot - it led me to write more, interview more, and now I'm lucky enough to make content as a career.

Thanks Arianna for giving me my start and believing in me.

Thank you for all you did as YouTube CEO 🙏 I’ll never forget visiting my sister in high school and seeing your poster on their bulletin board

I was so proud to say: “that’s my CEO. I work for her.”

Susan did so much but one thing that stands out is how she responded after we had the horrible shooting in YouTube’s offices. She was thoughtful. Calm. Decisive yet inclusive.

I saw her take a similar approach to meetings and events and it’s no wonder YouTube has grown on so many different fronts — creators, advertisers, gaming, kids, TV, Shorts, etc — since she took over in 2014.

Thank you Susan for being an example to my sister, myself and countless others

Honored to be selected for LinkedIn's first ever Creator Accelerator Program. They picked 100 creators and it's surreal to see years of posting on LinkedIn come full circle.

People would ask why I’d post nearly every day there. “It's just for job hunting. It’s just a resume,” they said. LOL. It’s so much more.

Personally, I’ve found it to be one of the fastest growing and most positive communities around.

I think this program is the start of more creators realizing that you can’t sleep on LinkedIn.

Shoutout to and the team for putting this together. To my fellow creators in the the program…let’s go get em!! 💪
