US Open :
Japan's Naomi Osaka wins her first ever grandslam by beating Serena Williams in straight sets. She becomes the first ever Japanese player to win a Grandslam.

Naomi was just 1 year old when Serena won her first ever grandslam and she considers Serena as her inspiration. What a great moment for her.

Emotional loss for Serena Williams after coming back from pregnancy and getting back to dominating her sport. Champion stuff!!!

3 Step Test :

One day a known person approached Chanakya and enthusiastically started saying, “Do you know, just a while ago, I heard few things from your friend about you?”Chanakya was famous for his wisdom, knowledge and good behavior. He said to his known person, “Before I listen to what you have to say, I would like to test it through my three step testing.”
“What is this three step test?”, the person asked.

Chanakya made him understand, “ Before you tell me about what my friend has said, let us test it. I call this testing – a three step test. The first test is of truthfulness. Is it sure that whatever you are going to say is a truth?”
“No”, the person said, “ I have heard it from somewhere.”

“Okay”, Chanakya analyzed. “If you don’t know whether this is truth or not, we will do another test. The second test is for goodness. Are you going to tell me some good thing about my friend?”

“No, it’s opposite to it…..”

“Then”, Chanakya asked further. “Whatever you are going to say, is not the truth, is not positive about my friend then lets do the third test. The third test is of usefulness. Whatever you are going to tell me, is that useful to me?”

“No, it’s not like that.”

Chanakya then said the last thing.

“Whatever you are supposed to tell me, it is not true, its not positive and its not useful also, then why you want to tell me?”

If we adopt this 3 step test in our lives, how peaceful the world would be right?
Its just not about gossiping in person but also before you post something on social media, just take this 3 step test and then if that post/thought passes the test, you go ahead and post it. :-)

Good morning!!

Dutee Chand - No words of praise can do justice to what she has achieved.

Despite all the harsh situations she has been through in last few years, she fought hard and won 2 Silver medals for India in 100m and 200m races.

Despite going through such hard times, she always wears a warm smile on her face.

Congratulations champ. May you achieve greater heights in coming days. 👏👏👏👏

Swapna Barman - A Big salute to you. In spite of a jaw injury for 3 days, competing in 7 different events and winning India's First Gold medal in Heptathlon. Such a dedication. Whole India is proud of you.

Heard presenters saying, her father did not have enough money to feed her nutritious food and the first thing she did after winning monetary prize in athletics is to get concrete walls for her home.

Good Morning Folks.

While many of you have been seeing a lot of news about how toxic is the current situation in India and how the situation of India is like undeclared emergency, we are here to remind you that there is tonnes and tonnes of good news for all of us.

We had another fantastic day at Asian Games yesterday. Here is a quick recap of all the dose of positive news you need for your Wednesday.

1 Gold, 6 Silver & 2 Bronze Medals for India yesterday and now the total medal count has reached 50. 👏👏👏

1. Men's 800m : If you have not seen this race yet, I advice you first go dig up the video and watch it before continuing to read this post. What a thrilling race and not one but 2 brilliant performance by India's Manjit Singh & Jinson Jhonson to win both Silver & Gold medal for India. They just set the track on fire.

2. Badminton : For the first time in Asian Games history we are among medals in Women's singles Badminton. No praise is enough for our wonder girls Saina and Sindhu. Well we could not taste the Gold medal yet but it was brilliant performance from both Shuttlers to win Silver & Bronze Medals.

3. Archery : India Men & Women were in Archery Compound Team event finals and they were up against the Giants of Archery of the world Korea. Women's tea fought hard and won a well deserved silver. Men's team were very close to take home a Gold medal but had to content with silver as Koreans won a tied contest based on number of bulls eye they hit.

4. Kurash : A sports unknown and unheard of by most of us in India has produced 2 medals. Congratulations to Pincky Balhara for winning a Silver & Malaprabha Jadhav on winning a Bronze medal.

5. 4*400 m mixed relay : For the first time ever a mixed relay event was organised at ASIAD and our Indian sprinters proved their worth once again by winning a Silver medal in this event. If you have not seen the relay yet, you have got to see it to see the beauty of the event. It will be posted in a while on 'Recap My Day' as well.

Indian running sensation Dutee Chand has qualified for 200m finals and I have a gut feeling that we have one more Gold coming today.

What else or what more is needed of these athletes for every Indian to get behind them and appreciate their effort? How is any of these medals less harder than Indian Cricket team winning world cup or an IPL team winning IPL?

Many of these athletes are on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram. Go search for them and appreciate them whole heartedly for their effort. 😀😀😀

Few of the unusual Sports events at Asian Games 2018.

Pencak silat
------------

Legend has it that the ancient Indonesia martial art originated after a woman watched a tiger do battle with a giant hawk, and copied their techniques to fight off a pestering group of drunken men.

The term pencak silat describes hundreds of indigenous combat styles in Southeast Asia, with fighters wielding a terrifying array of weapons such as knives, sickles and machetes. Not for the faint-hearted.

Sambo
-------

A Russian-Soviet form of fighting developed by the Red Army a few years after the Bolshevik revolution in 1917 to sharpen hand-to-hand combat skills.

The sport's name is an acronym of the Russian for "unarmed self defence" and points are awarded for throws and submissions.

Sepak takraw
-------------

Wildly popular in southeast Asia, this gravity-defying form of "foot volleyball" has become an Asian Games smash-hit since it was first introduced in 1990 and is largely dominated by Thailand.

An explosive sport in which players acrobatically contort their bodies to launch a rattan ball over a net using their feet, head or chest with the sort of skill that would make Lionel Messi proud.

Bridge
------

Yes, the card game. For many, impenetrably complicated and lacking the s*x appeal of poker. Bridge, which conjures images of cucumber sandwiches and rainy afternoons in village halls, is making its Games debut.

Billionaire to***co tycoon Michael Bambang Hartono, 78, will be Indonesia's richest competitor -- but still not the oldest. That honour goes to Malaysia's 81-year-old player Lee Hung Fong.

Kurash
-------

An ancient form of wrestling from Uzbekistan which historians claim dates back thousands of years, kurash was a training technique for soldiers of 14th-century conqueror Amir Timur, whose empire stretched from Persia to central Asia.

Like sumo, though less roly-poly in nature, kurash focuses on strength and stamina. Wrestlers use towels to hold their opponents, and bouts are won by throwing or tripping an opponent onto their back.

Tenpin bowling
---------------

Viewed by many as cartoon character Homer Simpson's idea of a workout, bowling has been an Asian Games event since 1978.

South Korea in particular take it super-seriously and have won almost twice as many gold medals as closest challengers, Japan -- perhaps proving that bowling is more than just a beery after-work hobby spent wearing someone else's shoes.

Jet-ski
-------

Better known as the flash pursuit of the glitterati in sun-splashed sea resorts, jet-ski is another of the 10 sports that are appearing at the Asian Games for the first time.

Indonesia expects local star Aero Aswar, the world champion in the runabout stock category in 2014 and runner-up in 2017, to lead the hosts to gold.

Paragliding
------------

Another one for the adrenaline junkies, paragliders will take the skies for the first time at an Asian Games.

The sport has come under scrutiny following the death of 44-year-old Hong Kong flier Patrick Chung. Hong Kong paraglider Cheung Yuk-wah also pulled out of the Games after crashing into a lake in Austria, according to local media.

Dragon boating
---------------

Believed to date back to more than 2,000 years, when it started in south-central China, the ancient sport of dragon boat racing retains many ceremonial and religious overtones.

China and Indonesia have won three gold medals apiece since the colourful sport made its Asian Games debut in 2010 and they will be the teams to beat again, although the gap to their challengers has closed in recent years.
