Elijah 2012

Elijah 2012 Ever popular, the audience demanded no less than 8 encores at its world premiere! Why not try something new this semester?

This term, The University of St Andrews Chorus will perform Mendelssohn's Elijah.

*This is the page for both the Concert and recruitment, give us a 'like'!*

Described as one of the greatest works of all time for chorus and orchestra, it tells the story of the old testament prophet Elijah through compelling drama and musical symbolism. We'll be using our own in house symphony orchestra and with a

chorus that was about 70 in number last semester, we'll have a big sound with around 130 musicians - but we want more! Whether you have a lot of singing experience or none, you'd be most welcome at chorus! Whether it's a change of musical scenery or a whole new activity, this is going to be a very special project to get involved with. Professional soloists, big choir, big orchestra - doesn't get much better than that! Rehearsals are 19:30-21:30 every Monday in the Stewart Room of the Younger Hall, we provide the music too!
