This conservative propaganda by Van Onselen and aired by Network 10 aged like a garbage bag of donkey d*cks and cheese left out in the sun.
Old clip of Jimmy Carter speaking the truth about Israel and AIPAC in 2007 reemerges.
I gotta say, this was difficult to get, for some weird reason every downloader I tried wouldn't work, just kept saying invalid token. Then I found a mirror of it on a different Youtube channel, and that worked.
Interview with Carter kicks in about the 1:30 mark.
Labor: Housing is unaffordable.
Also Labor: We don't want to lower house prices, we just want to slow down the growth in prices.
This is why Labor cannot and will not fix the private market side of housing prices. It's also why they won't build real, meaningful amounts of public housing to buy and rent - because that would be competition for the housing bubble in the private market they love so dearly.
Labor will not fix our housing crisis, and neither will the Liberal Party. They both want to see the price bubble grow. They as individuals are invested in it and are profiting from it, but also - none of them want a political fight with the donors and wealthy in the industry, and they also don't even want to upset property owners of muh precious mums and dads.
Modern Labor are a combination of ideologically business first and foremost folk, and spineless, self interested jellyfish who take the easy go with the money flow path because it's good for their careers.
There is no such thing as affordable expensive housing where the price just keeps on rising. The only way out of the hole is what the Greens propose - a public developer. It's how we solved this in the past, it's how other countries have this problem licked.
But this country is too propagandized by American free market thinking to even consider it. We insist on pretending we can massage the market to do things it doesn't want - lower prices. That means less profits for the developers, landlords, investors and entire real estate industry and none of them want that. It's utterly absurd to listen to the people profiting from this housing crisis telling you they have the answers to cut their own gravy train.
Muh mum and dad investors have the same exact profit incentives as the investor who owns 300 properties. We're in a sea of mum and dad investors, and still in a crisis.
I don't know what it will take for this country to get a clue, I don't know if its even possible. We're living in a decaying capital
Punter has come to the same conclusion as myself. He's a good man, I feel vindicated.
This is a government trying to look like it's doing big positive things without actually doing them. I wrote a lengthy post about this around a week ago.
If they won't help the plebs because it will upset their donors and media, then all that's left is public relations stunts trying to sell garbage as a government achieving great things.
Meanwhile, the families are still living in tents years into a housing crisis, and all Labor have done is start a small social housing program completely the wrong way with PPP's (public-private partnerships) instead of forming a public developer - so that's probably going to end badly like NZ's experience. And then the Greens just forced them into a $500M social housing energy upgrade which will only improve 25% of stock, in return for bill passage.
This is a government achieving very little trying to sell itself that they're achieving a lot. Labor did kind of tell us all the truth when they were blabbering they were a small target government.
Jordan Peterson is insane, surprise! It's hard to believe this is real. mUh biOLogY oF drAgOnS.
"Is fire a predator?"
"No."
"Well...it's complicated. Because fire kills you."
No Jordy, falling off a cliff can kill you too and that's not a predator either, nor is this complicated. Ugh. When can we stop pretending this loony clown is smart? He passed his psychology exams when he was young, then turned himself into a nutty, dumbass, far right propagandist for cash and fame since. That's not real intelligence, there's no wisdom here.
This is a perfectly acceptable use of AI.
LMAO. Soooo cringey.
All the swagger of a dead goat. Sounds like he's trying to do Wayne from Wayne's World. That was not natural lol. It’s like he’s trying to do an American accent and it’s making him gag.
Just be yourself, dorkster.
Purple Pingers interview on housing with Jorge Jorquera, Victorian Socialists Councillor for Maribyrnong.
In an interview Gough Whitlam said:
"There are some people who are so frightened to put a foot wrong that they wont put a foot forward."
And also:
"The Labor party is a party of reform or it is nothing."
I guess they are nothing then.🤷♂️
Richard Denniss rightfully calling the choices government makes to keep people in poverty "nasty."
What he doesn't say, is that the nasty politics is broadly a reflection of us as a society. We WANT this nasty sh*tshow and the politicians are delivering. Just listen to all the people moan about muh dole bludgers and welfare. But they love to take the middle class welfare, oh yes, there's no limit to that, let alone the handouts to the rich and letting them rob our resources and dodge their taxes.
Politics is a reflection of us, and we suck as a whole. We hate poor people and we bootlick the rich, we just do. Poverty is seen as a failing of that person who must deserve the poverty, and not a systemic issue.
Gawd, just the replies to this video on TAI's TwitX. mUh cOmmiEs! mUh bOlshEviKz! Endless morons and selfish assholes, that's this country alright. Decades of Murdoch propaganda has taken its toll.
Now Trump is claiming he's better looking than Kamala. He's such a piece of sh*t in every way possible. Conservatives, what the f**k is wrong with you? How have you failed so badly as human beings?
Brave lady. Would sadly be falling on mostly deaf ears.
