Why would women want to join a party of pigs that views women as second class citizens who should know their place? Not to mention their nasty policies.

Remember when Labor said the difference between themselves and the conservatives was that Labor would do this humanely? That was clearly bullsh*t.

He's not wrong. If you listened to Labor and Tanya on the environment before they were elected, they were saying very different things to their later actions. They certainly weren't telling us about all the fossil fuel projects they'd approve for the mining cartel that run this country.

That said, if we elect Voldemort, they're going to be even worse. They don't even accept the science.

Maybe in 300 years we'll have some foolproof anti-gravity system.

Until then this will NEVER happen. Can you imagine some gronk doesn't service his car and it falls out of the sky? Or even a loose hubcap or something comes flying down and kills someone. And that's even before you have gronks flying into buildings or each other.

You just can't do this safely for all, flying is a huge notch up in safety risks, so it's heavily regulated.

So ffs Australian journos, cut the BS, cut the click bait, get over your juvenile Back To The Future fantasies, and come back to earth.

Maybe some rich guys will be able to buy one, but it's basically gonna be regulated like any aircraft, this is gonna be rare, hella expensive, and not for everyone if it happens.

I was watching The Vanguard boys interview Medhi Hasan, and it was the first time I've seen someone highly notable like this say something I've been saying myself for a long time. Maybe someone else said it, but I haven't seen it.

The Vanguard boys were talking about MAGA loons being in a cult, and Medhi said - let's be real, people are in cults across the spectrum.

Every time I look at a Labor true believer - I see cult behavior. I've been screaming it since day one on this page. It's just a different cult to MAGA and the conservative movement. They won't face reality - ever - if you offer the mildest of milquetoast criticisms they are so offended it's like you've dumped a bucket of horse cm on their mothers, they blindly support anything and everything Labor says even when it's obviously patently false, they blindly support policies that clearly don't work or give very poor outcomes, and when it's so outlandish they cannot deny it, they'll still find any way to spin it in favour of their cult.

I'm sorry, but what's the damn difference between that and MAGA? You see this everywhere, not just in politics and religion. Sport loves to build and foster cults, both in clubs and personalities - it's in their economic interest. But it's everywhere, music, art, just everywhere. Human beings are just really susceptible to cults. If they aren't in a religious cult, they usually substitute a different cult in.

Political folk who are not in a party cult don't do this. They don't spin the truth, they don't lie for a party, and they focus on evidenced based policy, not party. They can be of various ideologies and mindsets, but they don't do these things, or they at least try not to. But sometimes they can be in more of an ideological cult rather than a party cult. Peter Hitchens comes to mind there.

I am reminded of Bruce Lee who said be like water, flow like water. I always remembered that as a reminder not to be too dogmatic about ideology and beliefs - they could be wrong. This is why I call myself a vague socialist. I'm a critic of capitalism, I want some form of fairer, kinder world that I am pretty sure capitalism will never bring. But I'm not dogmatic and c**k sure about the left ideas. I'm open to hearing new ideas all the time. Varoufakis has some, Wolff has some, and so on.

I don't want to be bogged into a mindset of it has to be this way or no way. I find that incredibly unrealistic, because politics has always been and always will be one set of compromises after another. You've gotta get a large number of people to come together on something to implement it, there's going to be compromise no matter what it is.

As one example, I remember John Maynard Keynes talking about the rent seeker, what he coined as the "rentier." Whilst clearly wearing capitalist beer goggles, he wrote about how capitalism would eventually eradicate the rentier. He was a smart man, but he was so wrapped up in the wonders of capitalism, that he believed it would do something it could never do. In fact, rent seeking is worse than ever - because capitalism obviously promotes it, it doesn't try to stop it, that's absurd - but it's easy to say that with hindsight.

It's never gonna go down like a left wing text book says - just like capitalism doesn't go down like the capitalist text books say. And if we ever get there, there's going to be so many unforeseen issues we'll need to deal with. There is no text book in the world, no writer, no economist, nothing that can prepare us for this. We just have to be rational and wise to the best of our abilities to deal with it when it comes.

Be like water, flow like water, and think for yourself, think deeply, slowly, and calmly about these things. Educate yourself, but don't be dogmatic and don't fall into a cult - party, personality, or ideology.

Based on Dr Monique Ryan being a reasonably progressive MP who took a Tory seat from those bastard sh*tlibs, I'm happy for this to happen. The more Teals, the harder it is for the conservatives. Enjoy, Voldemort.

On a Purple Pingers thread. I swear, it's like taking candy from a baby. In a battle of wits, conservatives are completely unarmed.

EDIT - Mustering all the available brain power he had, he came back and called me a "fag".
