It has been a very busy several months as we had some family health issues to work through. Work does go on, though. We met the due date of having a website ready to be introduced by this year's Unitarian Universalist Association General Assembly. I put the finishing touches on it yesterday, and we are SO excited to introduce you to SisterSouurce.org. I'll add some other projects I've been working on pretty soon. I have had the honor and privilege of working as Content Creator & Social Media Manager for Black Wealth Summit over the past several months. This was a steep climb because we started from practically nowhere... I mean, a previously nonexistent nonprofit organization with a big dream to create something meaningful, and a HARD DEADLINE, the virtual Summit, which started today.
Mine was a small part in this amazing endeavor. The first day of the Summit was LIVE and AWESOME and WAY MORE THAN I HAD ANY EXPECTATIONS FOR. What an absolute blessing to be part of this team. Trey Brady Cedric Nash Your Millionaire Mentor
* I was #1 on the Leaderboard for a hot second (due to me doing lots of activities on the virtual learning site). Now I'm #8 on the Leaderboard and I anticipate some go-getters will knock me out of the top slots, but THAT'S OKAY! It's all about generating engagement and excitement!

Biographical Sketch
Since 1983, Jan Carpenter Tucker has owned and operated J.L. Carpenter Design, a certified woman and minority sole proprietorship. She has served clients in arts, healthcare, nonprofit, high technology, business-to-business and business-to-consumer. Emphasis is on branding and communications with special focus on print media, digital solutions (websites, social media), displays and signage. She has designed, edited and published several books for various authors through her company, Night Star Publisher.
Jan Carpenter was listed in the 1985 “Outstanding Young Women of America” and has received awards of excellence and honor for her design work, the most prestigious being the 2001 Edward L. Bernays Award of Excellence in the Public Service Programs category from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), San Diego Chapter.
Carpenter Tucker has taught classes and seminars on marketing, design and art at various schools, businesses and community organizations. She is an avid spokesperson on diversity, presenting in schools, churches and the media. She is an enthusiastic, thorough organizer and has worked with numerous teams to create and promote memorable events.
Carpenter Tucker has been a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). She served on the inaugural committee for MOXIE Theatre’s MOXIE Awards in 2017 (honoring San Diego women with grit and determination) and is continuing to serve that committee for the 2018 MOXIES. She has served on several boards of directors and in an advisory capacity, including Project New Village, Waters of Jordan Enrichment Center, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) through the San Diego Unified School District, the Black Infant Health Program of San Diego County, Community Film Workshop of Chicago, International Association of Business Communicators, Art & Soul (Teen Education and Outreach) and the Urban League of San Diego County Equal Opportunity Dinner. She co-founded and held various offices in IMAGE (an in*******al family group), and co-founded the national group, the Association of Multi-Ethnic Americans (AMEA). She has served in numerous leadership capacities for her church and condominium association.
A National Honor Society member at Proviso East High School, she then attended United States International University in San Diego and Columbia College in Chicago before receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude) in Graphic Design and her Master of Arts degree in Environmental Design from San Diego State University. She is also professionally trained in e-publishing, filmmaking, theater, modern dance and ballet, and has completed courses in leadership, supervision, business entrepreneurship, digital business consulting (WP Elevation), and conflict management.
She is the wife of an award-winning music educator and mother of a young adult daughter.
