I saw this analogy and it made so much sense, so I’m sharing it with you!🤗

A bottle of water at Costco is $0.25.

The same bottle in the supermarket is worth about $0.50.

The same bottle in a bar costs $2.

In a good restaurant or hotel it can be worth up to $3.

At an airport or on the plane, you may be charged $5.

The bottle and the brand is the same, the only thing that changes is the place. Each place gives a different value to the same product.

When you feel like you are worth nothing and everyone around you belittles you, change places, do not stay there.

Have the courage to change places and go to a place where you are given the value you deserve. Surround yourself with people who really appreciate your worth.

The price of "Assumptions"!

Meeting an Old class mate, we had not seen each other for about 30 years. The Lord has been kind to me.
When I saw him again, this time at a hotel lobby, *he was looking simple.* He wore *simple clothes.* I felt touched.
He walked up to me and was glad to see me again. But deep within me I was not impressed with his status compared to mine and poor me, I couldn't hide it.
We exchanged contact details and I could see the joy in him as he collected mine.
I told him I will drop him home in my brand new *Range Rover* and I pointed it to him.
He declined and said he had already called for his car. It looked old, *a 2001 Honda Accord*.
I invited him the next day for lunch at my house. A part of me wanted to impress him, *to show off my success and affluence to him,* while another was to discuss opportunities and possibly help him.
He drove to Parkview where I lived. *He looked impressed with my home.* I had taken a heavy mortgage. *In fact I was heavily in debt.* We had lunch. He told me he was into small business and particularly real estate. I brought up more business discussions, but he didn't sound too interested. I asked him how I could help him. He said he was fine. I even told him if he was interested, I could help him secure some loans... He looked at me and smiled.
He told me he would invite me over soon to his place. His old car came for him. I was grateful to God for what I had. *“Fingers are not all equal”,* I thought to myself...I was lucky. I worked in a good place.
Two weeks later, we went to see him in a remote, my wife and I.
She was reluctant to go because she was not impressed with the man's status as to warrant our visiting him in his house.
I was able to convince her that we were close friends in college.
We saw the Estate. We asked for directions to his home. Those leading us spoke his name with deference.
It was a simple but lovely home. A 4 bedroom bungalow. I saw 4 cars parked in front. We entered his home. It was simply elegant with a touch of class inside. He welcomed us warmly.
Lunch was well served.
His wife called him babe, honey, Papa!!!
During lunch, he asked about my MD. He said they were friends. I saw a company gift on one of his tables nearby. That company owned about 38% shares where I worked. I enquired from him about it. He smiled. *He told me he owned the company.* He also owned the estate.
_I did not know when I called him sir... I was in awe of him too._
I had learnt a lesson in humility, A big one. *Appearances are deceptive.* He noticed my discomfort.
Driving back home, I was very quiet. My wife was humbled and extremely calm. I could perceive the thoughts in her mind. I looked at myself. Living on loans, heavy loans and showing off while someone who pays my salary is quite modest and living a simple life!
Indeed *Deeper Rivers Flow In Majestic Silence*!

UNCLE Werichan. ( copied and modified).

After living in the United States for 40 years and at the age of 70, Ni Werichan finally relocated to Limbe, in Fako Division this year to live in his 5-bedroom house which took him 10 years to complete.

Now in Cameroon and in his house, Ni Werichan lives in the living room of the house downstairs while his caretaker lives upstairs in his huge master bedroom.

This is because Ni Werichan cannot climb the stairs without the help of another person.

Even with help, it takes him 10 minutes to make the climb.

As such, Ni Werichan has decided to stay downstairs in the living room as all 5 bedrooms are upstairs.

The house has a living room, toilet and kitchen downstairs; 3 rooms on the first floor and another 2 rooms (including the master bedroom) on the second/last floor.

This is surely not how Uncle Werichan anticipated his retirement.

But that is the reality of his journey.

This will be the life of many other Africans living abroad and building mansions back home and not coming back on a quiet retirement, early enough.

In fact, if you are building a dream house for yourself to live in and the house is not ready by the time you attain the age of 50, forget about it!

Ni Werichan virtually wasted 40 years of his life doing menial jobs abroad, hoping to go and retire back home in his mansion and enjoy life.

But, now he has no life to enjoy and someone else is sleeping in his master bedroom.

Like most aged persons, Uncle Werichan is not even able to enjoy a bottle of top at his age because it will shoot up his blood sugar level.

Yet, he said he was working hard all his life in order to enjoy life, which includes eating and drinking the finest foods and drinks, when he retires.

Now, he is only able to eat fruit and vegetable salads - and even that, without dressing!

He cannot even eat any of the fine meats out there without his cholesterol sending warning signs.

That is the life of Uncle Werichan on retirement?

Worst of all, madam refused to come back to Cameroon with him and his children are all Americanized and only keep promising to visit.

This will be the story of more than half of us.

The best thing to do is to take mini-retirements now and enjoy the luxuries of life now that you still have the strength to do so!

We must all learn a lesson from the story of Ni Werichan.
