Tasting bottles is always an honor and a pleasure (and yes, it IS work). But being able to connect with the winery and winemaker on a more intimate level is what really means the most to us. We have been reviewing wines since 2011 and we treasure the moments when we get to taste a lineup in person or virutally. Great to meet “thee” Jeff Clark, James “Jimmy’s MM Pick” Miller and the rest of the team at a recent bourbon tasting at Noble Wine & Spirits in Marion, Indiana. Exciting news about their sponsored WhiskeyFest unveiled and all that their team is putting together for such an exciting event! Their team is not only the friendliest of the spirits bunch, but extremely knowledgeable and connected with their loyal followers and those wanting more insight about bourbon, wine and scotch. “Mutt’s” favorite of the evening was trying a few different products, with his top selection being the “Jimmy’s Pick” store pick (very few bottles remain). They passed along great MSRP pricing on their Batch 2 Eagle Rare store picks and even a right-to-buy raffle for some Stagg 24A as well. These folks are nothing short of fantastic!

There's a lot going on here. It's not every day you get to taste a Kentucky bourbon that was finished in Mizunara barrels. The Mizunara tree takes 200 - 400+ years to mature before it can be used in barrels for distilled spirits. Check out our thoughts on this World Whiskey Society offering!

The perfect summer sipping wine is here! Flora Springs Winery has released the 2023 Soliloquy white wine - a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Malvasia and Chardonnay - and it gave us all of the feels! We have been a big fan of Flora Springs red wines for many years and this was a special treat for us!
