About the Author:
I am a former Assistant United States Attorney who became more politically active after Trump was elected. I have also been a career counselor and executive coach for lawyers for over 30 years. After Trump was elected, I became a voracious reader of about 30 news feeds including MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Washington Post, Vanity Fair, Vox, Po

litico, Bloomberg and others. When I read or listen to the news, I synthesize and pull together relevant news and related legal concepts as well as political, psychological and sociological issues. Because I have met with lawmakers in person it helps me to understand these representatives better and give readers some insight into the people who work for us in Washington, DC. I’ve met or spoken with Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Barack and Michelle Obama, Jan Schakowsky, Corey Booker, Brad Schneider, Jon Ossof, Dick Durbin, Tammy Duckworth, Pete Buttiegieg, Lauren Underwood, Sean Casten, Tom Perez, Amy Klobuchar, Hillary Clinton and many others. When I write posts, I try to help readers understand more about our government and pertinent legal concepts as well as factoring in any insights about the people who represent us in Washington, DC if I have met them. The Markin Report is now read across the country and has a loyal readership consisting of people of many political backgrounds. One of my goals in writing the Markin Report was to become a trusted voice on Facebook providing readers with accurate information. I strive to summarize the news with the goal of helping readers understand more about what is going on at the intersection of politics, law, psychology and sociology in our country. I also try to raise issues for readers to think about and consider. It is my hope that people in our country can reach out across the divide and engage with other Americans in a respectful, reasonable way. I believe that to do that we need to start with reliable sources of information, shared facts, an attitude of curiosity and an open mind about people who have other viewpoints.
