Sand Mountain Skate Announces New Location in Downtown Albertville ❄️

Albertville, AL – (10/8/24) – Sand Mountain Skate is excited to announce its relocation from the Sand Mountain Amphitheater to the Downtown Albertville Farmers Market. This move marks an exciting new chapter for the city's Christmas season, bringing the popular skating experience into the heart of Albertville’s vibrant downtown district.

Starting Thursday, November 21st, skaters of all ages can enjoy Sand Mountain Skate at its new location, where the charm of downtown Albertville will create a unique, family-friendly experience at the Farmers Market parking area. The decision to relocate aligns with the city’s vision of fostering community engagement and making downtown Albertville a hub for activities and events.

“We’re thrilled to make this transition,” said Jessica Ryan, Sr. Director of Business Development, Sand Mountain Park & Amphitheater. “The Downtown Albertville Farmers Market offers the perfect backdrop for skating. It’s a place where the community already gathers, and we believe it will enhance the Christmas experience for both seasoned skaters and newcomers.”

Mayor Tracy Honea expressed his enthusiasm for the move, stating, “Sand Mountain Skate's relocation to downtown is a wonderful addition to our city center. It’s an exciting opportunity to bring more people to the heart of Albertville, and it reflects our ongoing commitment to revitalizing the area and offering more activities for families and young people. We’re proud to support our local businesses.”

The new location will offer hours from Thursday through Sunday, with special events, birthday parties, and partnerships with local businesses, ensuring that Sand Mountain Skate continues to be a central part of Albertville’s cultural fabric. The opening event will coincide with the City of Albertville’s tree lighting, making it a must-attend celebration.

Dear Community,

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, it has come to our attention that our East Tennessee neighbors up-river from us are in need of support.

On Friday, Homecoming Cafe will be taking our food truck and a couple staff members to Washington County, TN to prepare meals and deliver supplies to the South Central Elementary School Shelter where Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton has called on the public for any and all support and supplies.

From now until Friday morning, we will be accepting all supplies and donations. Diapers, water bottles, formula, wipes - any and all basic necessities in their original packaging are welcome and requested.

In addition, you can send donations to our Venmo:

Sincerely,

Chef Jessica & the Homecoming Cafe team
