垃圾杂志 Laji Magazine 垃圾杂志 Laji Magazine is an ode to lo-fi photography, designed by Audrey Salmon & Julien Tang, and printed in Beijing Who? Why?

What?
垃圾杂志 Laji Magazine is an ode to lo-fi photography, designed and printed in Beijing, China. In Chinese Laji (垃圾) means "garbage", "dump", "trash".

垃圾杂志 Laji Magazine is an empty art space on paper where, for each release, one artist from different background, is invited to fill it up. Until now, we had of course photographer, but also designer, collector and musician. We alternate issues bet

ween Chinese and foreign guest. Those artists work on any kind of medium including film strip, instant film, digital mobile cameras, and some hand writings. Audrey Slamon is a French photographer and graphic designer. Originally from Lyon, she spent a year in Shanghai before moving to Beijing. There, she worked in the field of music industry and founded KaiGuan Culture, a curatorial agency for music & art. Julien Tang is a French film-maker/producer and musician. Originally from Paris, he moved to Beijing and founded Beijing DC Studio, a creative cell for films and events production. He's also member of electro-rock band We Are Not Invited. Together, they founded Laji Magazine in Spring 2011. The easy way would be just because we like it! The other idea is to promote another kind of magazine, with another kind of content, based on lofi spirit.
垃圾杂志 Laji Magazine is like a homemade dish, made with love, but this one, you can collect it ;)
