Its Year 4 for the Allen County Karaoke Contest….aka “ACK”…..and might we say we have come a great way from year one. We are SOOOO EXCITED FOR ANOTHER GREAT YEAR. cally ran contest with the semi-finals and finals being held at the ALLEN COUNTY FAIR, thus our name. In no way do you have to live in or even close to Allen County to compete. We hope we have competitors from all over the state of Ohio and beyond as our contest continues to grow! We have a very simple goal with our contest. As we put it…..”Changing people’s lives, One Song at a Time.” Dont hear us wrong, we dont believe we do this, we believe YOU DO. You amazingly talented folks who can bring a smile to someone’s face or a tear to someone’s cheek, just by sharing your talents and stories through song! We not only have a great time with our contest, but at every qualifier, we have a great time hanging out afterwards, singing karaoke, dancing to some great beats, and just having a great time with even greater people. How does our contest work? We will be having FIVE QUALIFYING EVENTS THIS YEAR, INCLUDING OUR KICK-OFF QUALIFIER WHICH WE WILL TELL YOU ABOUT HERE SOON!!! At each qualifying event, our panel of judges will score each singer on two songs of the singers choice. By the scores of the judges, the TOP 3 Singers of the each evening will move on to our Semi-Finals, held the first week of the Allen County Fair. But wait! That’s 15 singers, and we still have three spots open in our semi-finals. At the end of all our qualifying rounds, the Top 3 Scores from any qualifying venue that didnt place in the Top 3, will also earn a wild-card spot into the Semi-Finals to compete. At the Semi-Finals, you will once again be judged by our panel of judges, and the TOP 10 SINGERS will move to our Finals on the 2nd Saturday of the Fair. At the finals, you will have a chance to perform in front of crowds of over 600 people, and the chance to win COLD HARD CASH! As we have Grown so have our Prizes. This Year like previous years we will hand out COLD HARD CASH to the TOP 3 CONTESTANTS FROM THE FINALS. We also always want to make sure we show how much we appriciate all you folks who dont compete but come out just to have a great time, and we will be doing giveaways at both the semi-finals and Finals for various restaurants, hotels, and other businesses in the Lima and Surrounding Areas. So I know what you’re thinking? Nothing comes free, how much is it goin to cost me to Enter this contest? WELL YOU’RE WRONG! It is completely free to enter our contest. All you have to do is show up the night of one of our qualifying events, sign up, and sing your heart out! We hope to see everyone we’ve met the last two years, and a TON MORE that we havent gotten to meet yet, out at all our Qualifying events. Last year, we had over 100 singers compete for the title of Allen County Karaoke Champ! Our goal this year is to see over 150 compete for the GRAND PRIZE! WE NEED YOU! So we’re calling all you amazingly talented people out there, You know who you are. COME SHOW THIS TOWN WHAT YOU CAN DO, and just maybe with one of your songs, You can make someone else’s day a little bit better!
