We have tried riding the ATV before, but it feels like it's our first time doing it again. We also decided to try the Buggy Car to complete the experience, and we enjoyed it. However, the 30 minutes went by so fast! 😁

The ATV rental costs Php 600 per person for 30 minutes, while the Buggy Car rental costs Php 700 per person for the same duration.

I LOVE THIS ANALOGY:

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.

Why did you spill the coffee?
"Because someone bumped into me!!!"
Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.
Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.

Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.
Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled.

So we have to ask ourselves... “what's in my cup?"

When life gets tough, what spills over?
Joy, gratitude, peace and humility?
Anger, bitterness, victim mentality and quitting-tendencies?

Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it.
Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation, resilience, positivity; and kindness, gentleness and love for others. 🤗

We always make it a point to spend quality time together and celebrate even the smallest events, like our monthsary, regardless of how busy we are. Sometimes, we have grand celebrations but most of the time, we keep it simple yet enjoyable.🤗💕

We spent the day buying things for our home office. We bought items to build bookshelves to keep all our books in one place, I also bought footwear as I will be visiting our office in Makati, and of course, cat food for our lovely cats. 😺😺😺😺

To celebrate our special day, we had dinner at Kanto Pares where we ordered Beef Mami, Kare-Kare Bagnet, and Beef Pares.

🍜The Beef Mami was flavorful and the beef was tender. Php138.00

🍲The Kare-Kare Bagnet was crispy with the peanut sauce perfectly complementing the veggies.Php198.00

🍱 The Beef Pares was also tender and had the perfect flavor. Php148.00

🍙🍚 Fried Rice - Php28.00

Always celebrate special days with your loved ones in any way you can! 💕 After all, it's the quality time spent together that matters the most.

Did you know that love can happen in just a few seconds? It's amazing how quickly we can develop feelings for someone. That person could be anyone; a stranger, a coworker, a neighbor, or someone you meet in a train station.

Although staying in love can be challenging, it's worth it. You'll face disagreements and challenges, but these are opportunities to grow and learn. You'll be each other's critic, but this will help you become better versions of yourselves. Even when you think or feel you don't love each other everyday, you can always choose to act with love.

The question is, will you choose to commit to that person every day? Will you choose to hold onto what you've built and remain true to what's right?

Remember that love is a choice, so choose it every day. ✨

We had a wonderful time at the Watsons event held at MegaTrade Hall, where we explored various products and made a few purchases. After the event, we decided to have dinner at the mall and settled on trying out Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant recommended by Tita Tess, who had already tried the restaurant's food in Binondo.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table. The restaurant's ambiance was cozy and welcoming, with bright lighting and Chinese-themed decor.

✨For our meal, we decided to try out some of Sincerity's best dishes, including the Oyster Cake, Fried Chicken, Kikiam, Bihon, and Garlic Fried Rice. To quench our thirst, we tried their Sagot at Gulaman and Almond Gulaman.

🍥🦪As oysters were our favorite, we were excited to try the Oyster Cake. The dish was well-presented, with a crispy outer layer and a soft, flavorful interior. While it was delicious on its own, adding ketchup or hot sauce elevated its flavor profile.

🍗The Sincerity Fried Chicken was a standout dish, with a perfectly crispy exterior and a juicy, flavorful interior. The chicken had a distinct authentic taste that left us wanting more. The gravy served alongside the chicken was a perfect complement to its crispiness.

🍝Their pansit bihon was also flavorful, with perfectly cooked noodles and fresh vegetables. We ordered the small serving size, which was meant to serve 1-2 people, but we were surprised to find that the serving size seemed to be more than enough for two people.

🌯Kikiam - this was not your ordinary kikiam. While we had tasted kikiam in Binondo before, this one had different ingredients that made it unique. The dish was salty and sweet, with a perfect texture that made it enjoyable to eat.

🍚The Garlic Fried Rice was another standout dish, with a perfect balance of garlic and rice. It was similar to Chow Fan at Chowking but had a distinct taste that set it apart.

🍹🍹🍹We tried both the Sagot at Gulaman and Almond Gulaman drinks. While the Sagot at Gulaman was just okay, we enjoyed the Almond Gulaman better. The drink had a refreshing taste, and if you don't mix it, you'll find yourself enjoying the cold taste at first, then feeling the warmth at the bottom.

Overall, it was a great first-time experience, and we will definitely come back to Sincerity when we crave authentic Chinese dishes. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and delicious food.

----------
History

Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant was established in 1956 by a couple - Mr. Peter Uy and his wife - who migrated to the Philippines from China. They started out as a small noodle shop in the heart of Binondo, Manila's Chinatown. Over the years, their simple yet delicious offerings became popular among locals and tourists alike. Today, Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant has expanded to five branches, but the original branch in Binondo remains the most popular.

What makes Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant stand out is their commitment to using only the freshest ingredients in their dishes. They source their ingredients from local markets and farms, ensuring that every dish is made with the best ingredients possible. The restaurant is also known for its signature dish, the Sincerity Fried Chicken. This dish is made with a secret recipe that has been passed down for generations. It's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, making it a must-try for anyone visiting the restaurant.

During our visit to the Ruins Mansion, we stayed at The Piazza and decided to try their Pizza and Pasta.

We ordered Don Mariano's Pizza 🍕 and Ajo Parmesano 🍝, both of which were incredibly delicious! The Pizza was overloaded with cheese 🧀 and the Pasta was cooked to perfection.

Our dinner experience was even better having a piano performer playing in the background as we enjoyed the beauty of the Ruins Mansion.

The Ruins Mansion is the remains of an ancestral home built in 1920 by a wealthy sugar baron named Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson. Don Mariano constructed the mansion as a testament of his love for his Portuguese wife, Cora Maria Osorio Rosa-Braga, after she passed away in 1911. Maria, who was pregnant with their eleventh child at the time, lost her and their baby’s lives after figuring in an accident.

Don Mariano built the structure in a 440-hectare sugar plantation situated in the border of present-day Talisay and Bacolod. Its architecture was described as Italianate due to deriving inspiration from Italian Architecture. However, it was later set aflame in 1942 by Filipino guerilla fighters employed by the United States Armed Forces during the Second World War.

This was done in order to prevent its use as a military office by the Invading Japanese Forces. It continuously burned for three days until only its current cement frame was left standing. The original intention was to burn it to the ground. Despite losing the majority of the mansion, its ruins have been recognized as one of the architectural wonders of the Philippines. It has also gained titles such as the “Taj Majal of the Philippines.”

Today, the Ruins Mansion is in the private ownership of the great-grandchildren of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and Cora Maria Osorio Rosa-Braga.

➡️How to get there
The most convenient way to get to The Ruins is by taking a taxi straight to the property's entrance. Otherwise, you can take a northbound jeepney in Bacolod City that follows the Batad-Libertad route. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Pepsi Bottling Plant. Here, you can hire a tricycle to take you straight to The Ruins.

🎟️Tickets and entry
Travelers must pay a certain amount to enter the property and get a closer look at The Ruins. The ticket price is Php150.00/each

⌚Best time to visit
The Ruins is open from 2 PM to 8 PM from Tuesdays to Thursdays and from 11 PM to 8 PM from Fridays to Saturdays. It is closed on Mondays.

It is recommended to visit during the dry season in the Philippines, which usually starts in November and ends around May.

El Ideal Bakery is more than a bakery; it is a custodian of memories and traditions. It represents the heart and soul of Silay City, a place where the flavors of the past are preserved and celebrated.

As long as El Ideal Bakery's ovens continue to warm, its recipes endure, and its doors remain open, it will remain a symbol of Negros Occidental's rich cultural heritage and a testament to the enduring legacy of Don Generoso "Esoy" Golez, Sr. and his family. It is a place where the past, present, and future blend harmoniously in every bite of its delectable creations.

We were supposed to try the GuaPle, but unfortunately, it's not available during our visit.

We had the pleasure of tasting the delectable Fruit, Pineapple, and Buko pies, which we paired with a refreshing Mango Shake. Out of all the pies, the Fruit Pie stood out the most with its juicy and flavorful filling. As for the Mango Shake, it was a delightful blend of sweet and tangy, making it a perfect complement to the pies.

German Lacson Gaston Ancestral House 🏡

This house represents an interesting combination of bahay na bato and American Colonial style. The horizontal clapboard sidings are inspired by American architecture but the capiz shells windows on the ground floor and vetanillas with wooden balusters are very Spanish.

The second floor boasts colored glass, rejas na buntis iron grilles, and Art Deco brackets. Slatted louvered windows extend to envelop the whole upper floor but from the outside it looks like the usual Visayan heritage houses. The decorative stair balusters and veranda on both floors were also developments during the American Period.
