Celebrating Matt today!! I couldn’t ask for a better life and business partner.
He comes to my technical rescue almost everyday. He is a brilliant engineer. Matt holds three patents, proving his creative engineer brilliance. He coaches all our kids in sports. He is just the best.

Celebrating 19 years together today❤️

We always get away for our anniversary. This year Matt planned a trip down to the Redwoods for us, in N California. Sadly the Smith River Complex Fires are raging and making the air quality not healthy near where we were going to stay.

Looking at the Oregon wildfire map, there are wildfires and poor air quality throughout much of the state. We dropped the kids off with grandma and grandpa last night and we are headed to Seaside, OR for cool breezes and rest and relaxation.

Matt, love having you for a life partner. And a business partner too💕🎥

Oh hey Insta friends! I just realized we can now add music to photos! I like how there are always new features and new ways to create on this platform.

Only two weeks of summer break left for our kiddos. We are making the most of it! This week we have a couple day trips planned assuming the air quality doesn’t get worse from wildfires. And next week Matt and I are off on an anniversary adventure!

Matt and I take turns planning surprise anniversary trips each year for each other. It’s an odd year so it’s Matt’s turn. Can’t wait to find out where we are headed! And a much needed break.

Lennyn and Hayes made their entrance into this world early at 34 weeks. Both spent some time in the NICU but quickly graduated home. They are thriving and after you watch their film, you’ll see, absolutely precious.

I’ve been wanting to film/photo twins. I was so blessed to get to capture Jake and Alyssa with their sweet babes and doggie Sheff at home. Even in the midst of sleep deprivation, mountains of diapers, and round the clock feedings, this is the good life.

I’ve been wanting to try out a vintage lens. So I ordered my own Christmas present off of Ebay back in Nov. I decided on the Russian made Helios 44-2 F2/58mm, circa 1970’s. The only sellers I could find for this lens were located in Ukraine. So I said let’s take a chance!
I ordered it Nov 1 and it arrived Jan 9. Not too bad considering it made it safe and sound out of a war zone into my hands.
I was interested in this lens for its unique bokeh effect.
I’ve only used it a couple times because it’s winter in the PNW and it’s hard to get excited about shooting in the rain.
But I was so happy to use the lens at the end of a maternity session with Rafael and Carolina and their boys. These are dear friends of ours and they are working tirelessly to bring change and opportunity to rural Haiti through their ministry Ann Prepare Lavni.
I was pleasantly surprised by the highlight blooming with this lens. This is a great addition to our kit and excited to experiment more with it.

Matt and I laughed so much trying to take our own photos with a timer, tripod, and our trusty Gh5. It is really hard to take Pinterest poses and execute them! This was one of like 3 that came out.

I’ve been reading “Life Reimagined: The Science, Art, and Opportunity of Midlife” by Barbara Bradley Hagerty. And one hallmark of a happy healthy midlife marriage is trying new things together. Somehow entering into novelty as a team cements your bond.

I love that we get to adventure together. And I love that we get to figure out the daily mundane together too. We are in this together.

Birthdays are pretty fun around here. I got special breakfast with presents this morning. One kid is home from school thanks to end of term grading for teachers, so she helped me with a video project for . And this evening we will head to our favorite Thai restaurant, The Woodsman. And then left over birthday cake and hopefully a drive through the Holiday Pastega Lights Display at the fairgrounds. Thankful for all these blessings and for you all, encouraging us on as we document the everyday and special days on video. I wish we had this moment on video circa 1984. Happy Smurf day theme! Did you watch the Smurfs growing up?! Or reruns?

This may be an unpopular opinion, but yay I am glad it’s Halloween so Halloween season can be over! I don’t like scary things and getting kids costumes together has always felt like a stressful chore. And it always rains on Halloween. Can I get an Amen?! Or is it just me?! Excited to enter into a month of thanksgiving and gratitude.
