The Texas Veterans Commission recognized San Antonio College for its work supporting veteran students during a Veterans Day Ceremony at SAC’s Victory Center Monday. “Here at SAC, we are proud to serve over three thousand veterans yearly,” Interim SAC President Dr. Francisco Solis said at the ceremony. “We are here today to honor and thank them for their service.”

San Antonio College’s women’s basketball team improved to 4-1 with a 99-29 victory over the University of Incarnate Word Cardinals Wednesday night at SAC’s Candler Physical Education Center. The New Braunfels-based “John Brewer Band” visited SAC Oct. 15 to shoot a music video with help from students in SAC’s Radio-Television-Film and Music Business programs in Studio B of the Jean Longwith Radio, Television and Film building. The video will serve as part of the band’s electronic press kit and help the band promote their music to a wider audience.

The Armadillo men prevailed at home against the St. Philip’s College Tigers 82-76 Wednesday night, overcoming early foul trouble and a slow offensive start. The Armadillos are now 2-1 for the season and will look to improve to 3-1 against Trinity University at SAC’s Candler Physical Education Center next Wednesday at 8 p.m.

“Mental health affects people’s daily lives, and we need to be aware of how to assist students, especially those going through a crisis,” Student Success Coordinator and event organizer Marisa Martinez said.

SAC students learned about mindfulness practices and other mental health issues during a “Mind Matters” workshop Oct. 9.

“It’s a great honor to do it,” Nirenberg told the Sundial. “The students are incredibly sharp, and I said what I meant in there about the concerns about our democracy. This is probably one of the most important functions that will keep it alive, so I will do what I can to help these journalists, and I hope they continue to pursue the field.”
