The Search for the Good Life An insight into the Good Life as part of my final project for my MA in Multi-Media Journalism.

As part of my journalism masters degree at Bournemouth University, I'm creating an online project investigating the surge in interest and demand for allotments and ‘growing your own’ across the country, focusing particularly on the threats facing allotments, and more importantly on what’s being done to solve the problems on both a local and national scale. It’s been estimated that if food imports

into London stopped the city would run out of food in four days. With waiting lists at their highest levels in decades, but demand for housing intensifying and land values soaring, what measures are being taken to ensure local communities in Britain can grow their own food? My website examines the growing pressures on allotments, and explores the various evolving schemes, policies and projects which aim to provide more land for allotments, push the creative use of unused space for growing your own in urban areas, and encourage more people to support long-term sustainable food production in Britain. I hope you find my project interesting - keep up to date with what I've been doing and who I've been talking to here! :)
