Inside the Creation of AI-Generated Music: A Detailed Workflow My work in AI-generated music begins with crafting the prompt that dictates the style and type of track I aim to create. This initial step is crucial, as it sets the tone for the entire composition. Sometimes, I find myself iterating through dozens of musical attempts, navigating through trials and errors to pinpoint the perfect prompt that yields the desired result in AI-generated music creation. Once I have the ideal prompt, the next phase involves refining the lists of generated songs that pique my interest. I delve into a process of overanalysis, meticulously studying patterns and musical directions within each composition. I pay close attention to elements like chords, progressions, and rhythms, aligning them with my creative vision or the specific aesthetic I wish to achieve. Following this meticulous analysis, I proceed to separate the individual instruments and voices within the generated tracks. This separation allows me to manipulate and integrate them seamlessly into my music editing digital audio workstation (DAW). Here, I apply filters and effects that I believe enhance the thematic elements of the music. Additionally, I employ instrument transfer techniques, converting certain parts of the track into instrument sounds as needed. For instance, transforming a voice sound into a guitar or another instrument that complements the composition. After completing these intricate steps, I focus on fine-tuning the pitch of the song if necessary. This adjustment is particularly crucial if the original piece comes with an unusual pitch or if I believe the pitch can be enhanced for a better auditory experience. Finally, the mastering phase of the process takes center stage. I opt for analog or cassette tools during mastering to infuse a vintage touch into the sound. This choice is deliberate, as it adds a layer of authenticity, especially considering that many recordings from the 90s onwards tend to have a processed or robotic sound. By incorporating analog elements, I ensure that the final output maintains a credible and organic quality.
