AEW Fans Rejoice as TK Explores Free Streaming Channel
In an exciting development for AEW fans, TK has revealed his interest in supporting a focused channel that will be free for the public to enjoy.
While there is still no concrete information about the launch of a domestic streaming service, TK’s idea of a FAST (free ad-supported television) channel has sparked enthusiasm among wrestling enthusiasts.
TK shared his thoughts during an interview with Variety at the Monaco Streaming Film Festival, later quarter last year.
He expressed his belief that there are ample opportunities to create a FAST channel, considering the growing popularity of such channels among major technology companies. Giants like Amazon with Amazon Freevee, The Roku Channel, Paramount and FOX have already embraced this trend.
“With the vast library of historical content we are building, it opens up more and more possibilities for a potential FAST entry, I believe," TK said. He also emphasized that any decision regarding the channel would require a partnership with WBD, highlighting the collaborative nature of the endeavor.
While plans for domestic streaming are still being discussed, Tony revealed that WBD has signed deals to launch a singular FAST channel with Roku.
These developments indicate a promising future for AEW's streaming ventures.
TK remains optimistic about AEW's international business, expressing his belief that as the landscape of the industry continues to evolve, the streaming revenue for AEW can be multiplied several times over.
This positive outlook is sure to excite fans who are eager to consume AEW content through various platforms.
The world of professional wrestling already boasts a presence on several FAST services, and the recent announcement by FITE TV, which surpassed one million minutes viewed on their FAST channel, further solidifies the viability and popularity of this streaming format. In contrast, as most wrestling fans know, WWE has recently revealed their launched FAST channel and has not discussed it as a strategy during their quarterly investor calls however it appears that WWE has selected Netflix for their Monday Night RAW shows.
As AEW and Tony explore new avenues to engage with fans and provide them with free, easily accessible content, the future looks bright for AEW's streaming offerings.
AEW fans can anticipate an immersive and thrilling wrestling experience as they eagerly await the launch of the potential FAST channel. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from the world of AEW and ROH as the landscape of professional wrestling continues to evolve. With AEW’s final year of their TV deal being on WBD, I have no doubts in my mind that the network is going to pick them for what could the biggest TV right deal since 2021.
The bias of the bias casual wrestling fan will most likely hate them still being on air, but it’s amazing for wrestling at the end of the day and of course, the company we all love will continue to grow. Dont forget, this company is the fastest wrestling company to ever reach $2B. Of course people are going to bring up the thing that was reported a few months ago saying AEW lost this amount of money, etc but they don’t work for the business and neither do I.
Remember, folks, keep your seats in the upright position and your eyes on the ring.
Don’t stop believing in All Elite Wrestling!
It's going to be a wild ride for AEW in 2024!!!
