The primitive art of ceramics is a fundamental part of the cultural heritage of Sifnos, which is known for its timeless art tradition of pottery. In this context, we are organizing a project during which Greek artists and artists from all around the globe will be invited. There, they will reintroduce the traditional art of ceramics to the public by participating in a modern visual art action. This action aims at decentralization in addition to the involvement of the local community in an international context. By focusing on extroversion, we aim to leave our mark on the world through the creation of visual art and leave a legacy of artworks that will redefine the history of the place and will be incorporated into the existing ceramic tradition. The purpose of the action is the cooperation of well-known artists or on-site - in situ artistic production, the establishment of a network of artists that will collaborate, the creation of visual work by the guest artists, speeches, and interaction with the residents of Sifnos. Our objective is to leave our legacy which will include; sculptural creations-products of the action, video projection material, and a document describing the experiences of the participants and craftsmen by recording the views of each artist, in addition to their cultural imprint, since an aim of the action is the combination of traditional with modern art applications. That is why we will invite the most interesting modern-day clay artists and craftsmen from a variety of artistic movements to leave their unique cultural imprint by participating even via video call and sharing their ideas. The experiential character of the action contributes to creating a remarkable personal experience for each participant, who will leave Sifnos with unique memories, vivid emotions, and images. The project theme has been deliberately designed to concern not only the artists but also the residents of Sifnos. Additionally, it will gain the interest of both the on-site/in-situ and digital visitors. Furthermore, the participants will gain a glimpse of the Cycladic culture and everyday life in the Cyclades by observing a collection of images. Moreover, interesting impactful stories will be stimuli for the artists to express themselves through visual creations based on clay. In a later phase, these visual art creations will be introduced to more esthetes.
