We are extremely pleased to announce our next release and it's a first one from Alix eveer. Phasing is out 24th August. The album Patchbook Scrapbook by alix eveer will be out 5th October.

"Phasing" is the culmination of 4 years of stumbling into the rabbit hole of modular synthesis and combines multiple recordings that have all been manipulated within the synthesiser.

alix eveer has said, "4 years ago I fell for the idea of modular synthesisers without really knowing much about them and now it's my entire personality. I stepped into a pitch black room, and in building Patchbook Scrapbook I've stumbled around and have found a semblance of the forms that are within it."
"Phasing is born out of the idea of a repeating melody being recorded and looped but slightly out of time to create more melodies that interlock and *phase* with each other. The structure and original distorted recording from 3 years ago remains in the final track, and since it was first recorded I've added layers, taken away layers but also folded melodies back in on itself. But most importantly I kept coming back to it, so there must be something to it. Enjoy."

The March Afternoons may not be real but this album very much exists. It can be picked up in the physical form of cassette tape via the medium of kindness.

But if you want one then follow these steps, and - if you're lucky - we'll send you one:
1. Do one good thing that doesn't involve money, for anyone that isn't you. For example:
- Fill up a couple of bags with old clothes and take them to your local charity shop.
- Talk to a homeless person for a few minutes.
- I don't know, be creative. But more importantly be nice!
And no, we won't ask you to prove it or post about it - that would be tacky, and if you're the kind of person who wants this tape, we think we can trust you to do the right thing.

2. Make a donation to the Marketstall Recording studio's Pay-What-You-Can fund. *** THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL ***

SMALL PRICE, BIG REWARD.

Ahead of the release of GOOD LUCK BARNARD CASTLE by the march afternoons on 6th March, we’re pleased to say we’re going to be giving this tape away for the price of a kind gesture.

We aren’t asking a lot from you so follow these steps to get a limited edition tape!

Step 1
- Do something kind for another human being that involves no monetary value. You could give your mate a hug, ask someone if they fancy walking with you in nature for a bit or fill a bag of clothes and take it to your local charity shop.

Step 2 (OPTIONAL)
- Make a donation to the Marketstall Recording Pay-What-You-Can Fund. This fund helps open the studio up to people who may otherwise struggle to afford recording in a studio environment.

Step 3
- TELL A FRIEND! Share it on socials! Send it to a Whatsapp group and tell people “This is nice” etc. Music is to be shared. If a song reminds you of someone - or you think someone might like it - let them know! Please tag us if you share it on social media!

Step 4
- Simply send an email to [email protected] with your postal address and wait. A tape will appear (if there are any left). Don’t worry, you don’t have to tell us of all the amazing, kind things you have done. It’s not about that.

We are incredibly pleased to announce our first album release! 〰️

the march afternoons return on Monday the 6th of March, with GOOD LUCK FROM BARNARD CASTLE! The album is a short trip through six finely tuned indie pop and instrumental tracks. There is something for everyone.

It will be available on Limited Edition Cassette Tapes as well as all the usual streaming platforms. The album is available to pre-order soon but you will not be able to pre-order it in the usual sense. This album cannot be purchased. We’ll be showing you some creative ways to secure a limited edition tape in the following days but generally you just have to be nice to another human being.
