JOB DESCRIPTION – ACCOUNTING / PAYROLL ADMIN
Remit: Must apply experience to undertake a variety of duties as assigned, working closely with CBO and CEO. The Administrator will need to be pro-active in learning animation industry terminology, to better assist in the accurate detailing and recording of a myriad of tasks. Accounting plays an important part of this role, working closely with the company’s accountant, and doing Payroll.

Accountable: Account / Payroll Admin to work at with the CEO and CBO at a fast-paced animation studio in Beaver Bank NS.
Position: Accounting / Payroll Admin
Start Date: As per contract
Expectations: $As per contract - paid bi-weekly
Location: Applicants accepted in this position will be working at our farm studios in Beaverbank, Nova Scotia.
Responsibilities:
• Assist CEO and CBO
• Input Meetings / Reminder in Goggle Calendars
• Travel Arrangements (Trips / Flights / Accommodations)
• Accounts Payable/Receivable (including but not limited to: Taxes, Insurance, Freelance Payments, Property & Water Taxes)
• Picking up Mail
• Payroll
• Quarterly - GST/HST Returns, Bank Financial Packages, Tax Credit Spreadsheet
• Learn the in/outs of Animation Tax Credits / CAVCO / How to submit, follow-up, and receive
• Monthly: Cost Reports on projects, WBC Reports and Remittance, Bookkeeping and Account Reconciliation
• Annual: Year-end prep-work, T4s and T4as
• Budget Reviews
• Communication with current accountant and Charted Accountant
• Naming / Sorting Paystubs
• Collecting / Filing Business Receipts
• Run Office / Personal Errands
• Attend Meetings
• Create Meeting Agendas / Gather Required Meeting Items
• Take Meeting Minutes and Distribute
• Assist in Fundraising Ventures
• Oversee / Coordinate Events and Group Outings
• Maintain / Order Office Supplies
• Quotes / Research
• Set up Studio Visits / Ensure Visitors Follow Security Protocols
• Candidate must be flexible, self-motivated and energetic. Help to identify problems and mitigate issues and/or carry out solutions.

Requirements:
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), with an ability to become familiar with office specific programs and software
• Working knowledge of accounting practices including Payroll
• Knowledge of Sage 50 would be an asset
• Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities

• To report any accidents or potential health and safety hazards to: HR, your supervisor or JOHSC representative
• To work in a safe manner, not causing any danger to yourself or others
• To use your Focus Group representative, as a conduit for positive change
• To adhere to all Cartoon Conrad’s policies and procedures

Desired skills:
• Knowledge of google sheets and docs
• Proficiency with utilizing excel formulas
• Certificate or Diploma in Accounting Corse
• Knowledge in Sage 50
• Knowledge of Payworks

Meet Winnie Cooper! 🐶

Winnie is the newest addition to our Cartoon Conrad pet family. She is a three month old Boxer/American Bulldog mix. Her time at the office is spent snoozing and stealing employee’s shoes.
