Plot holes you must avoid at all costs.
1) Unresolved Subplots: If you write a story about someone looking for a lost brother or sister, make sure you tell what happens at the end of the story. The person should find out something, even if they don't find their sibling.
2) Inconsistent Character Behavior: If you say someone is scared of heights, don't make them climb a mountain without explaining why or how they overcame their fear.
3) Convenient Resolutions: Don't have a character magically find a map to the treasure at the perfect moment. Build suspense by hinting at the map's existence earlier in the story.
4) Timeline Discrepancies: If you say a journey will take three days, make sure the characters actually take three days to complete it, or explain why they arrived sooner or later.
