Remember the Ernest films from the 80's & 90's starring Jim Varney? No! Well, Andrew Crupi of 'The Men of Action Podcast' does and during the 2021 Adelaide Fringe Festival he watched all 9 Ernest films in release order & presented his theory on "The Importance of Seeing Ernest” to a live theatre audience at the amazing “House Of Spaghetti” venue.

This new episode of “The Importance of Seeing Ernest” is Ernest Goes to Jail (1990) and my Co- hosts were David Hirst and Miranda Pike.

Each episode in this spinoff MOA Podcast series will focus on 1 film in the Ernest cannon that Crupi and 2 guest hosts watched then went out on stage to discuss as a live comedy podcast. Will we find a grand connected narrative through the films? Will Crupi go mad? Will we finally understand what Ernest ment? Will anyone be interested in this? Have a listen to each episode and decide for yourself.

Episode 1 is Ernest Goes to Camp (1987) with my Co- hosts Eddie Morrison and Peter Cortissos.

Each show was recorded live on stage, some recorded better than others, so please excuse any drops or distortions in sound quality, I have done my best to clean it in the edit.

NOTE: Men Of Action fans we will still be releasing new MOA Podcast episodes later in the year. We just needed to take some time off this year for personal and professional reasons and these episodes of “The Importance of Seeing Ernest” were gathering dust in the Pantheon so we thought it best to release them before they exploded.

Who Are The Men Of Action?

The Men of Action is a bimonthly action movie Podcast staring Graham Self and Andrew Crupi a real life buddy cop movie odd couple. Graham’s the fresh faced recruit who’s had very little experience with movies from the“Golden Age of Action” while Crupi’s the grizzled veteran who’s seen it all before and is getting too old for this.... well you know the rest.

The Men Of Actions mission, should they choose to accept it, is to watch action movies from the “Golden Age of Action” the 80’s and 90’s and discuss whether or not they deserve a place in the newly built “Pantheon Of Action” or should be left to the VHS graveyard of old.
