Fatman Scoop has been the soundtrack to many club nights and weddings. I had the honor of meeting him at the old Room 960 in Hartford CT. His passing is a loss to Black culture, hip-hop, and impact on DJ’s across the globe.
I want to thank everyone who attended Mens Night 🎉 👤👕🥾🧢 We are judged because we have a sense of s*xual liberation that others are jealous of. They are rigid and confined to regulations that Gay men aren’t. Cruising is an art that the masses wish they had the ability to navigate as poetically as we do. We had important conversations, food, music and a sense of community care that I would not trade for the world. It was a one shot deal and I’m so happy to have shared Pride with you. 🎉 👤👕🥾🧢

During Pride I have marched while bearing the fabric of black, brown, blue, pink, and white stripes as a means to hold on to chosen family who is no longer living. I cling to these colors out of fear of letting go of her hand.
While growing up girls were supposed to play with dolls and boys were supposed to play with trucks. In a world where I’m expected to be head of the house, protector, and breadwinner. If art is a gift, then nothing is affirming about creating gifts I’m unable to share, because I do not possess the equity or capital to distribute it. Nothing makes me feel more emasculated. Nothing makes me feel more inadequate... so now I allow myself to cry. I allow my self to mourn so that I can authentically support someone else. I allow myself to let go and maybe one day gifts will fly.
