A simplified flow diagram of the hydrological cycle of Los Angeles in the SURT Initiative that I began imagining in part in 1993 and much more in 2012. The hydrological aspects took time to coalesce because of water constraints so this is a kind of "camel through the eye of a needle" answer to those constraints, which if proven feasible, could provide a model for cities around the world as the Earth heats up and deserts consume large swaths of scrub and forest.
