đź’Intimacy with Jesusđź’
Intimacy is defined as a close familiarity or friendship; closeness
So what does it mean to have a closeness with Jesus?
Well when getting to know someone you spend time with them, you get to know more about them. In time you develop a connection with them that is unique to you both. Jesus died on the cross for our sins which allowed for us to have direct connection with God the Father through Him
Check this out.
"And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split," (Matthew 27:50-51)
Before Jesus died on the cross, there used to be a veil that was placed in the temple. Once a year the priest would make an animal sacrifice to God for the sins of Israel. This meant that only a priest was able to enter what was the called the Holies of Holy where God resided. But as soon as Jesus died, that veil was torn to signify that God no longer resided in a temple made by hands. See, Jesus made a way for us to connect with God directly. We can get on our own knees and come to the Father as is. How heartwarming is that?! Praying is a beautiful way we can connect with God.
Also opening up the Bible and reading his word for ourselves is a definite way to connect. By reading the scriptures we know more about God and his grace of sending Jesus down for his earthly ministry to save us from an eternity without Him.
For example we are introduced to God in the Old Testament. We see him as a God of strength, judgement, and how much he cared about his people Israel, even when they disobeyed him. Remember there were strict rules to live by in the Old Testament and God did not play. However once we get to the New Testament we see God come down as flesh and blood, Jesus, to save all of mankind. We don't see definite wrath or judgement but intense compassion and sacrifice.
One scripture that shows this is the parab
There is a brotha out of New Orleans, Louisiana that is definitely taking a stand against the music industry, specifically with Hip Hop. His name is Dee-1, have you heard of him? Maybe you heard his viral song "Sallie Mae Back", made a song about finally paying off his student loans. I bet that was a relief for him lol!
His message of promoting godly wisdom and truth has been spreading widely. He been shaking up some things up and causing discussion, which I think is definitely needed. It has me posing the question...is the music I am taking in just harmless entertainment or is it sugary poison? I had already been on a journey of shifting away from music with messages that did not align with me. It is still a journey but seeing others coming to the conclusion that something is amiss, has me encouraged.
I'll be speaking more about this soon, but just wanted to share to see if anyone had heard of him and his mission. I think a big shift is happening in the industry.

It is no question that so much is happening in the world. Things that really show how dark this world keeps getting. It can be so disheartening that I wonder sometimes if God is even paying attention. When things get like that I know I gotta remember who God is, what he has done and continues to do. Then I refocus on what I am feeding my spirit. This reflection points me to getting into the word of God and just letting it wash over my spirit. Turning on worship music that reiterates what scripture says gives me hope and calms me.
"Then Jesus said: 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give is light.'
-Matthew 11:28-29
So much can weigh heavy on one's spirit, but it is so good to know that you are not alone no matter how it feels. Jesus is right there holding your hand through it all. We can be distracted on the problem so much we lose sight of the comfort that is nearby. He is not some fairweather friend who leaves you when things go bad, he is there through it all.
Today's song I am sharing is Madison Ryann Ward's song "Faithful love". This song reminds me that no matter what is going on there is a faithful love that knows each of us by name, He made us and we are so precious to Him. Praising Him doesn't have to be a chore but a sign of true appreciation and love toward Him. He will protect and guide. The lyrics say:
"But trouble is no match for a faithful love
Grateful to God keeping me covered above
Even when feeling low I be looking up, looking up
I, I, I, I
They tell me I gotta sell out my soul to eat
How 'bout I fill up my spirit, fruits and drеams
This is the love that be talking truth to mе, truth to me, yeah
[Chorus]
I'll praise Him in the darkest night
I'll praise Him at the highest heights, oh
I will praise His name
I will praise His
Almost a year ago I began attending morning prayer service at House Of Prayer (HOP) inworld. I was nervous about attending. Thankfully, I was put at ease as everyone was welcoming. It was warming to pray with others and ask God to meet their specific needs. I prayed aloud a few times (which jittered my nerves) on things concerning my heart. Despite me being timid it felt good to participate with others.
I haven't made it to prayer service in awhile but tonight I ventured back to the sanctuary. My earbuds were in my pocket and I wanted to meditate on a song that I have been holding in my heart. This particular song has reminded me that reflecting inward is essential to growth. Sometimes we focus on the things around us instead of what's inside, mainly facing that mirror of self. Psalm 51 is a beautiful chapter of doing just that. I am not perfect and I don't always get things right. I fall, make mistakes, and certainly need to provide more grace to others like God surely does for me. My spirit still is going through a pruning process.
I love this song cause it speaks to where I am on the journey. No matter the seasons in life God is present. Communicating with him by prayer is a gift that I have taken lightly before. Now, especially this year, I see how vital it is.
❤Thank you God for your mercy and grace! I pray this is a blessing to someone to be reminded:
"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done." -Philippians 4:6❤

"As a daughter of God, you can be assured that He is present with you and dwells within you always, giving you the strength you need for each day. He keeps you safe and sets your feet on a firm foundation."-Margaret Grenawalt
Every woman and girl is worthy of God's love. No matter what you have been through or are going through, you are worthy! Never give into the lies that you have to be perfect to have God's love. You are loved unconditionally even when it is hard to see. Whether you are a young girl or woman, you can make an impact. There is so much we can learn from one another. Let's love and share the goodness of God with each other.

Worship music does so much when we are praising God. Our joyful noise we make to Him is so special and intimate. Have you ever felt like you needed more of Him and less of yourself? We aren't meant to live this life relying on our own strength. So yes, more of Him, His love, mercy, compassion, and guidance.

Whose approval are we seeking?
Culture has been known to persuade and even command that we follow certain guidelines in order to keep up with the times. There may even be things we know go against our convictions as Christians, but we do it so we are not the oddball out. We have seen examples where adhering to culture whether it be street approval or worldly approval can leave one feeling empty.
Why do you think an individual would chase street or worldly approval? Is it to be cool/popular? Is it to fit in and seem like they are not a prude? Or could it be that validation feeds an insecurity of not having been affirmed enough in life? All these things can be reasons as to why someone, even some Christians would fall into this approval trap.
We pray that more people would look to God for that pat on the back. He is the creator of all and knows exactly how actions can affect us in the long run. Sure, we are not perfect but we can strive to live a life that is pleasing to him and can be example to others.
Keep the faith Xpresserz!
