Behind The Scenes With Allyson Hoover
Got an opportunity to interview Allyson Hoover, a Local 600 member, 600 Black Women member and cinematographer. In this video she talks about why she chose to pursue working behind the camera as well as the difference between working on set in the camera department versus working as a cinematographer on her own projects.
Creatives About The Movement with Gtar Phil
Last year I sat down with Gtar Phil [Phil Hughley]
and interviewed him about his 2021 single Black Bodies. In this interview, he talks about how he created the song and how society and the times we’re living in can impact the creative process and lead to great music and great art. He also speaks on how as an artist, he feels like it’s important for music to reflect the times we’re living in.
Growing up in church for some, felt like having religion shoved down their throat. My older sister didn't grow up in church like my other siblings and I. She came to church and Christianity a little later in her childhood. And with that I could see how she could feel like her experience growing up felt forced. So we talked about it. And try to answer the question, what's the difference between growing up in a religious environment vs. having religion forced on you?

Liking, commenting and sharing art work you like from your friends, local artists and black artists online is one way to support them. But being able to support them monetarily or by attending their events really makes a difference. So if you can and haven't already, consider purchasing some of their work or going to an event where they're being featured.
A Wedding Story: Kara and Michael
A year ago today I had another awesome privilege of filming one of my close friend's wedding. This is not a traditional wedding highlight video. Instead this video reflects the true love and beauty of not only this couple but their family and friends as they helped to celebrate this beautiful couple on their special day. Happy Anniversary Kara and Michael!
Deconstructing Your Faith
Deconstructing one's faith is a process that I have started to become more aware of through various podcasts and social media posts but also something I know very little about. So in this episode I decided to invite my good friend Grace, co-host of the podcast Graced With Questions, to help me define what it means to deconstruct your faith along with why we don't talk about that in church.
For my last video of the year I just want to say how grateful I was for the opportunity to attend the film screening event for the Holiday Bread & Jam film. Thank you so much to the McCrary Sisters and the Nashville Double RL Store for making this possible.
And if you haven’t already, check out the Holiday Bread & Jam film on ralphlauren.com or the Double RL YouTube channel.
Happy New Year all!

It’s the last day of 2021! And on this last day I share my reflections on what I learned about myself this year and how I plan on moving into 2022, Lord willing!
