Adapt-Able : In the beginning...
Making the decision to leave my previous role had not come easy. I worked for a tenacious business, with significant growth and the vision & drive to succeed. Days were erratic, contrasting and ever evolving. Adaptability, humility and determination were an essential prerequisite. Managing multi-million pound accounts and working on projects that spanned 9 - 12 months, meant that dropping the ball was not an option. However, on occasions, circumstances outside of my control would challenge myself, the team and the project. The ability to develop authentic relationships were vital, in order to establish a way forward to ensure project, business and most importantly, customer success.
I reminisce back to my days as a stubborn school girl (my mother takes great delight in telling "my first day at school" story!) and the occasions I was asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?". The suggestion that you could work for yourself had never been portrayed and it wasn't until a couple of years ago, that I developed a passion for wanting to work for myself. Being an ambitious individual, there are of course other business dreams on the horizon in addition to Adapt-Able, that will holistically incorporate sustainability, heritage, luxury, charity and design (I am available for sponsorship and investment). However, for now, I want to focus all my efforts on Adapt-Able, creating a successful business for my clients and myself.
June 2019 marked the catalyst for this change, I resigned, with a solid and structured plan in mind. I had been on business courses and negotiation courses, with many more SEO and marketing courses scheduled to develop my skills in order to hone my experience. My passion for organisation, support and helping businesses develop and grow, inspired me. Now, some may consider a virtual assistant to type up documents, take phone calls and iron clothes. While some of that may be true, negate the ironing of clothes, there is a lot more that a virtual assistant can do - through the skills and experience I have been fortunate to benefit from, consulting is a passion. Always increasing my knowledge and skills is a key requirement, in order to support businesses capture success. I am looking forward to challenging the status quo and adding a little diversification.
Now the name, which followed the incredibly creative idea that spawned over a two second brainwave, where I figured I would brand an extendable table and call it Adapt-Table, because, you know, it would be adaptable! Sometimes, I am hilarious, this evidently was not one of those times! Enveloping my abilities to turn to the task in hand, I jumped on the name, registered a domain and created a website. Alas, Adapt-Able was born.
