I'm heartbroken at the passing of my beautiful friend, colleague and mentor, and supporter of Scattered Pictures, Kay Benbow.

I first met Kay through my role on Balamory but we've worked closely together the past few years ...and just a few weeks ago.

Not only was I so lucky to get to work with such a legend of the children's
TV industry, but also one of the kindest, wisest, most compassionate and generous humans I've ever met.

I'll cherish all I've learned from Kay about developing brilliant, inclusive children's TV, but also our many personal conversations about our lives, our kids, the football.

Somehow Kay always made you feel better, but she also made you be better. She was my Queen and I will miss her so much.

Sending much love to Kay's family and all who knew her. ❤️

It's been another challenging year for the TV and film industry so more than ever I'm so grateful to all who have so generously supported me and Scattered Pictures with their talents and skills, resources and resilience.

Huge thanks to our development and production partners and collaborators who have worked with us over the past year - Ardimages UK, Quay Street Productions, Seven Seas Films, IMG, BBC Film, Creative UK, Netflix UK, Tannahill Productions, The Nest, Sail Creative, Signpost, Highlights PR, Mitchell Gordon. To the writers, directors , producers, casting directors, actors, consultants, crew and commissioners and every person who has contributed to our projects, I am filled with gratitude 🙏. I am so proud of what we've created and nurtured together and looking forward to continue our exciting work in the new year.

Thanks and also congratulations to North East Screen on such a successful year supporting our region's industry.👏 Lots of wonderful times ahead for the North East.🙌

When I first set up Scattered Pictures, John Yorke was super supportive to me and it was through him I learned much more about the structure of storytelling that has become important to me as a writer and a producer. So excited I can now share our feature film news! 🥳 A dream collaboration for me & Scattered Pictures with the incredible Manon Ardisson & Ardimages UK, Helen Simmons & Ben Mallaby.🤩 With huge thanks to amazing support from Netflix and Creative UK, I'm still pinching myself I'm co writing my first feature film and set to play a leading role! 🙏🥳🎉🎬

Congrats to Robson Green on his much deserved RTS Outstanding Contribution Award.🥳 I made my acting debut with Robson for ITV many years ago. He was so kind, taking time out to chat to a very novice me. I'm grateful that kindness has continued decades later with his support to me and Scattered Pictures. .
