Wanna know a secret, I am going to admit something to you… These cans of dog food sat here for 3 weeks before I cleared out a drawer to make a new home for them. HERE’S WHY👇🏼 I didn’t have space because my drawer was FILLED with stuff I don’t use anymore and everyday I would walk by and dread the task so I just pushed it off. After the 3rd week I had had enough and decided to tackle this area and guess what… It took me 5 minutes to complete. 5 MINUTES! The second pillar is the how organization comes to life. The key is that everything has a home. When every item has a designated place to call home, chaos becomes a foreign concept. From the paperclip on your counter to the most cherished mementos, each possession finds its place. The secret isn’t some special formula. It’s as simple as embracing what’s essential and ensuring everything finds its way back home. Start by using these bins to organize your space. Try to reframe your thoughts: It’s often a mental game and a Mindset Shift. 🧠 Feeling overwhelmed by clutter and time is often rooted in a sense of helplessness. Try to reframe your thoughts from “I don’t have time” to “I can make time for what’s important.” Your focus should be on empowerment—recognize that you DO have control over your possessions and time. 2. Be sure to Set Achievable Goals: ✔️It’s progress over perfection. Work with me here to set small, realistic goals. Use my free calendar to target one area to organize within a week. Achieving these goals can boost confidence and create a positive reinforcement loop. 3. Keep a Structured Approach: - 🏡 Prioritize your spaces. Which area impacts your daily life the most? Start there. The sense of relief from gaining control over a frequently used space can significantly reduce stress and motivate you to continue. Use Time Management Techniques by using timers ⏰ and work in short, timed intervals (usually 25 minutes) followed by a 5-minute break. This can make the task feel less intimidating and helps to maintain your focus and momentum. 4. Create sustainable habits- start just ONE ☀️ daily decluttering habit. Even dedicating five minutes at the end of the day to clear a small area can have a substantial impact over time. The key is consistency. Clutter Prevention means Addressing habits that contribute to clutter. For example, implement a one-in-one-out rule to prevent accumulation, and encourage mindful purchasing decisions to reduce the influx of new items.
