Still on the exploration of the theme of
Palestine’s deputy permanent representative speaking to the UN Security Council this month, had these important questions for the International Community after Washington’s veto of a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
While the context of the comments are in relation to Israel & Palestine, the sentiments framed have been repeated countless times over different time frames, by different leaders, cultural contexts & geopolitical divides. That of a double standard in assessment, in seeing & in understanding different groups from the Global South & North.
