Fur What It’s Worth is a podcast based in the furry fandom, focused on introducing and exploring the numerous facets of this science fiction fandom offshoot. Furries are fans of anthropomorphized animals, similar to how animals are often potrayed in classic Disney films and cartoons today. Often times, members of the fandom create their own characters, free from the traditional corporate studio or
igins, and participate in this very deep and creative group. FWIW focuses on exploring how fans express different parts of their personalities through their characters (both sexual and non-sexual), how their daily lives are affected by it, trends/fads of the fandom at large, personalities of interest to the fandom, and much more. Roo, Nuka, Sammy, Klik, Voas, and Firebreath, serve as the facilitators of these journies, often adding dashes of unexpected humor and banter to compliment the show’s informative and engaging tone. FWIW has also been fortunate enough to work with well-known celebrities and personalities of interest to its audience, and is always happy to work with personalities to both educate and explore some of the more interesting and deep facets of furry. Some prominent personalities who have been on the show include Jason David Frank (Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, My Morphin’ Life), Barbara Eden (I Dream of Jeannie), Margaret Cho (stand-up commedienne, Monsters of Talk), Jessi Nowacking (My Little Pony and anime fandoms’ voice actress), Pat Cashman (Bill Nye the Science Guy, Super Smash Bros Brawl, the 206), Mark MacLean (Cirqus Voltaire pinball, Cactus Canyon pinball), and Jim Short (stand-up comedian, Monsters of Talk). The show has also visited Further Confusion, Rainfurrest, the Bay Area Brony Spectacular, and Salt Lake Comic Con. Seasons run from year to year on a rolling calendar, starting in the month of June. While episodes strive to remain in good taste, occasionally discussions will focus on adult topics. As such, the show is recommended for an 18+ audience only.
