Went to Yosemite National Park, became a certified junior ranger, humbly climbed El Capitan in my jeans and kick-started my professional water coloring career.
Can’t wait to quit freelance creative work to become a junior-ranger full time. 🌲🐻🪪🐦‍⬛⛰️

Dash’d and Bash’d at Day 1 of my animation safari. Furiously consumed sugar and caffeine to adjust to east coast time, and connected IRL for the first time with my weekly zoom buddies/mograph friends , and 🥰 amazing speakers, supportive community—- look idk how to explain it. Ice carving was ❄️COOL❄️, but now I’m back to doing what I do best in Animation Land! 🎨

took these film photos in my office a few weeks ago when I was beginning to storyboard for a big animation project I’m directing/designing/animating with for a few very special scenes in their documentary film about 🎥🎞

I’m feeling very creatively fulfilled these days- and even though some of my personal projects have had to go on pause until 2023 (ahem, dogumentary!!!) I’m so grateful to be closing 2022 out with an eclectic assortment of work that lights me up with joy. ☺️💓 Thanks for following my strange little variety show I got goin on here in my corner of Instagram. Life feels better with bold, creative curiosity and I appreciate everyone who encourages my journey :) Cheers to more art experiments in 2023! 🧑‍🎨🧪

A condensed 1-min collection of some work I did on this retro and hunky documentary! 💪🕺🏻
Utilizing high res scans of paper textures and vintage IM catalogs, I digitally cut up and pieced elements back together in new compositional ways that lended to the story we were telling. The film’s directors really wanted viewers of this movie to feel like the International Male catalog came to life on screen- so designing the animation in a way that felt multi dimensional was intentional and important to convey a feeling of immersion. I wanted to send people through these pages, the way that so many customers did back in the 70s, 80s and 90s! The film is 83 minutes long and I think we made over 200 cut-away scenes in varying complexity. 🥵👏
While a lot of the catalog imagery is ridiculous, the story of International Male is quite sweet and sentimental. Follow for film festival updates and if it comes to a town near you- dress up your masculinity and go check it out! 💁‍♂️🩲🎬🍿

Shuuuucks guys. Outfest with the team was so special! And a review in even mentioned my name along with the word “buoyant”! What honor!
Thank you to the tallest men (directors) Jesse Finley-Reed and Bryan Darling along with angel humans (producers) Taylor Vracin-Harrell and Peter Jones for seeing my potential and giving me my first real opportunity to be the senior gfx artist for a feature-length film. Getting to work on these 200-some scenes with some support from Zena Grey, Brendt Rioux and Bethany Radloff over the summer of 2021 was a dreamy experience for me. Proud of what we made and hope to keep doing more work like this in the future. *climbs to roof and screams* I HAVE SO MUCH GRATITUDE!!!! 🫠
Also at some point I will share a couple scenes from the film on here! Just haven’t been allowed to do that yet ✌️

"All Man: The International Male Story" is a documentary film produced by Peter Jones Productions about the magazine/catalog that queered the image of the "All-American Boy" and ultimately changed attitudes about men’s fashion, masculinity and sexuality in America.
