Kalakote. August 22, 2024.A workers meeting of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) regarding preparation of upcoming assembly elections led by its Provincial VP, Jammu and Member Working Committee, Former Legislator, Sh.Ashok Sharma was held at Village Panjah, Kalakote, here today.

Mr. Sharma while addressing the workers, said that there will be zero tolerance against corruption and drug menace and pledged to make Kalakote-Sunderbani a model constituency if DPAP gets the mandate of the people of Kalakote-Sunderbani, he added.

The Former Legislator further said that basic issues of the masses including the regularization of daily wagers, SPO's, Asha workers, lamberdars and chowkidars, etc are pending since last two decades which have not been redressed by the ruling dispensations and local representatives depriving the general and underprivileged people of their basic rights.

Underground Terrorist Hideout Busted In Jammu And Kashmir’s Rajouri

JAMMU, Aug 20: Security forces on Tuesday busted an underground terrorist hideout in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The well-build hideout was unearthed during a cordon and search operation by a joint party of police, Army and CRPF at Sagrawat forest in the Darhal area of the border district, the officials said.

They said a large quantity of daily use items including cooking gas, blankets and utensils were recovered from the hideout.
However, no one was arrested during the operation as the terrorists using the hideout managed to escape before the start of the search operation, the officials said.
They said security forces also busted a cave-type hideout in the Balotha area of Basantgarh in Udhampur district during an ongoing anti-terrorist operation.
Some food items were recovered from the abandoned hideout, the officials said.
The search operation in Basantgarh was intensified on Monday after terrorists opened fire on a joint patrol party of CRPF and police, killing an inspector-rank officer of the paramilitary force.

Two teachers die in car accident

Reasi, August 18 :- Two government teacher died after an alto car bearing registration number JK20B1024 they were travelling rolled down in a deep gorge near Chamelu Morh,Chassana area of Reasi district, witnesses said Sunday.

2 of them died on spot, the other two are said to be critically injured.

Both the teachers were identified as Ghulam Din and Mohd Amin residents of Hamusan area of Chassana tehsil.

Injureds immediately referred to nearby hospital.
