I read this verse earlier this morning and it has stayed on my mind as a prayer ... Lord, fill me with Yourself so that everywhere I go, I come in the fullness of Your blessing. I pray that Your Spirit in me creates spiritual hunger in others, and that they are strengthened and encouraged by experiencing You through me. To the glory of Your name, Jesus. Eating our way through the state fair. Some of the fam went to the pig races 🐷🐽 but I don’t want to sit in the sun and I forgot a hat. So here’s to waiting in the shade in 90 degree weather! 👏🏻

Caffeining up at the airport at dark thirty. On my way to Birmingham for the Prison Fellowship Restore conference. The theme is justice, healing, and presence. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?!?! Bring it all, Lord. 🙏🏻

When I stopped by the church today to pray over my classroom, I was also drawn into one of the worship spaces called The Venue. I stood up in the balcony and prayed over the lives that would be changed in there, the heart miracles that would happen, inviting the Lord to let His glory fall in that place. What I’m discovering as I’m intentionally going to the church to pray every week is that *my* heart is changing. I wasn’t expecting that, but I feel love for my church and God’s people growing. It’s amazing! I highly encourage to GO pray at your church, in the spaces where you meet and know people. It will do powerful things you aren’t expecting. 🙌🏻

Aside from the bad shadows on our faces, we had a fantastic evening at a Geron Davis concert, of all things. Yes, Geron Davis, who has been around forever and written at least 5 million worship songs that every church has sung. He was really good! Relatable. Fun. Worshipful. An outstanding evening! 🙌🏻🎶🎵

God brought this verse to my attention several months ago and I have been praying it back to Him everyday since. I don't know what He'll do to "fill it" but I'm ready for whatever it is. Pray it with me and let's see what God does! 🙌⭐️

For a lot of you this is a season of emotional partings and good byes. Whether it’s the first day of kindergarten or driving away from your 18 year old in their new dorm room, we have all the feels! And that’s okay. Kids rip our hearts out in all the best ways. We can be super excited for them and hurt so bad we can hardly breathe, at the same time. And it’s all good. Let it be what it is. Don’t be afraid to be in the moment, because I promise it doesn’t last. Soon our kids are off experiencing life in new ways, and we realize that that’s fun and satisfying for us in a different way. And God fills in the gaps they leave with the new and beautiful. Life changes, and that’s a good thing. Embrace every moment and season to the fullest!

I stopped by the church to pray over my classroom and want to share my Sunday morning view with you (The room was partitioned this morning for something else, so double the image). I love the people who sit in these chairs! ❤️ I pray for them every week. 🙏🏻 They are the people God has given me to invest in so they hold a very special place in my heart. For those of you who have been hurt by a church or have been disillusioned in some way, 😢 I want to assure you there are leaders and teachers who are absolutely sincere in their love for you and their love for Jesus. We’re not perfect so we’ll mess things up sometimes, but we live with the glorious weight of being called by God to pour into others. We will not stop serving you until we have breathed our last. Please give church another try! ⛪️ Please try opening your heart again. Please go with a friend to their small church group. There are wonderful people to be discovered who want to walk through life with you. Don’t miss it! Jesus loves you ✝️ and so do we. 🥰

This was the last time I had lunch with my dear friends Roy and Jean. Yesterday I drove to Enid for Roy’s funeral. Roy loved telling me about how Jesus saved him in his 30s when he was a “hopeless drunk,” and every time he told me, he teared up. He never got over it! He spent the rest of his life as a pastor, loving and giving in extraordinary ways. The church was full today, with lots of laughter and celebration of this truly influential man. Life races by, friends. Let’s make it count, like Roy did!
