Donât fall for this common budgeting myth:
âIf you make a lot of money, you donât need to budget.â
Regardless of your income level, budgeting is crucial for financial success. Without a clear plan, even high earners can fall into overspending traps, debt, and financial instability.
â
Budgeting isnât just about limiting expenses; itâs about prioritizing your spending, saving for goals, and building wealth. No matter how much you earn, a well-managed budget empowers you to make informed financial decisions and achieve your dreams.
So, whether youâre making a little or a lot, take control of your finances with a solid budgeting strategy. Your future self will thank you!

They call it a rainy đ§ď¸ day budgetâŚ
Having a rainy day budget means setting aside funds specifically for unexpected expenses or emergencies.
Itâs like creating a financial safety net to cover unforeseen circumstances such as medical emergencies, car repairs, or sudden job loss.
The idea is to have a buffer that you can rely on without having to dip into your regular savings or go into debt when unexpected expenses arise.
Realistically, not every person/family can afford to set aside a lot of $ for a rainy day budget but itâs not unrealistic to start somewhere small and increase it as youâre able to afford it. No more excuses. đ

One of the ways to get ahead of your budget is to create another income stream.
We all know the internet isnât exactly new, but boy, has it evolved especially since the pandemic! Nowadays, there are more ways than ever to earn money from the comfort of your own couch (or hammock, if thatâs your vibe).
First, thereâs freelancing. Ever heard of Upwork or Fiverr? Theyâre like treasure chests full of opportunities.
Then, thereâs e-commerce. You can use platforms like Shopify and Etsy and turn your hobby into a full-blown business.
And letâs not forget about content creation. YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook â these platforms are like virtual stages where you can showcase your talents to the world.
And the one I jumped on toâŚ. Digital marketing! I loved being entertained on these social media platforms and used to watch other peopleâs reels who are digital marketers and thought âoh great for them! I have a full time job and kids, I donât have time to do all that..â
and as I watched them grow and share ways they earned money, I started to question âWhy not me? Why not try? Why canât I make the same time investment for myself?â And here we are!
After taking a leap and learned how it works, I soon realized that the possibilities are vast and that this digital world is here to stay. I felt like Iâm gaining knowledge not just for myself, but for our kiddos.
Itâs so much more than skills, it also has to do with your mindset about it. The 15 days course taught on both and it was worth every dollar and time spent.
If youâre interested in learning more but skeptical like I was to spend too much time or money to get started, this is the perfect course.

Passive income refers to earning money with minimal effort on your part. Setting it up, on the other hand, still takes time, effort and commitment as itâs not a get rich quick scheme. Continue reading on https://blog.clairthebudgeteer.com/
Great read suggestion especially for those who have not grown up in generational wealth and want to build one.
The book is incredibly practical.
My husband and I have read it as we are intentional about passing on wealth to the ones that came after us. We are continuously learning so our kiddos can have a better future and hopefully their kiddos and their kiddos, and so forth would.
Like one of my other favorite authors, Kris Vallotton, says we are building for generations we may not get to see and that is the legacy we want to leave behind.
5 things you must learn per the video (keep watching for the simple explanation for each point)
1. The importance of financial education
2. Understanding assets and liabilities
3. The importance of entrepreneurship
4. Taking calculated risks
5. The power of passive income

Have you ever switched jobs and come tax time, you ended up owing a load ton of money because you didnât withhold enough money for taxes from your paycheck?
While paying taxes is part of having income, and owing merely means that you got to keep more of the $ during the year rather than the government keeping it, it still hurts the wallet when itâs not expected.
Filling out a W4 or state withholding forms can be intimidating. Thankfully, the new W4 form is a bit more straightforward and youâre not left to just putting random numbers on it.
Hereâs what you need to know:
- The more # of people you put on your W-4=the less taxes are withheld=the more money you get per paycheck.
What does that mean? If you check Married Filing Jointly that means youâre claiming thereâs two people in your household. If you add 3 children in addition to the MFJ selection, that means youâre claiming thereâs 5 people in your household.
- Now, the opposite is true. The less # of people you claim on the forms=the more taxes you withhold=the less money you get per paycheck.
- The amount of money (more or less) seems minimal per pay check but adds up for the year. So, you may not feel the difference per pay check, but it amounts to a bigger number at the end of the year.
- If you are married and both have jobs, you must talk to each other about how you both are filling out these forms. if one parent is claiming the # of kids on their form, then the other parent shouldnât.
- There is now a checkbox on the W4 to indicate if there is another âjobâ if youâre married filing jointly, so itâs not double counting each other. Make sure to check that for both forms (you and your spouse) if you choose married filing jointly.
- If you donât care about getting to keep the money throughout the year and youâd prefer for the government to get more tax withholding for a potential refund later, you can just check off âsingleâ whether youâre filing Married fi
