I’ve done tax prep many times as an employee, as a side gig, and for family and friends, etc. I know that when people have these forms, I know they’ve got $ outside of their spending bank account. Some are bigger than others and that determines how little or large their investments and savings are.

I’ve shared that my husband and I used to struggle to make ends meet. Having kids shortly after getting married with little income, we just didn’t have any to put aside in savings.

Fast forward a few years, even though we had better financial status, we just didn’t know much about financial literacy.
In the last couple of years, we’ve been intentional in learning more about it.

When I did our taxes this year and saw we had multiple 1099 forms, I was so proud of us. I knew that our research, discipline and consistency were producing fruit.

Do you know that having money isn’t enough to get you out of financial stress? You could stay in the same cycle you’ve been in if you don’t take the time to learn more about financial literacy.

Which one is better?

Every individual and family needs are different. Your needs can even change at different seasons of life.
Our family has opted for one and changed it at a different season.

In summary, an HMO can be beneficial if you prioritize lower costs, predictable expenses, coordinated/routine care…

Let’s touch on this topic because it’s so close to my heart. Many immigrants come to chase dreams, but without a solid understanding of financial systems, it’s like driving without a GPS.

Growing up in an immigrant family myself, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles and disconnects that come up. Our parents often sacrifice everything for a better future, but they might not have the tools or knowledge to make the most of financial opportunities. And as their kids, we often straddle two worlds: our cultural heritage and the financial norms of our new home.

But here’s the tea… financial literacy is the key to unlocking doors of opportunity. It’s about more than just budgeting or saving; it’s about understanding how money works, from banking to investing. And it’s not just on us as individuals—it’s on communities, schools, and institutions to bridge the gap and provide accessible education.

I’m aware this goes beyond just immigrants, so if this is you and you also want to learn more about financial literacy that is practical and foundational, then join the journey and follow this page for more.

So let’s flip the script and empower ourselves and our communities with financial knowledge. Let’s break the cycle of financial struggle and build a future where everyone has the tools to thrive. Who’s with me? 💪🌟

Achieving financial goals doesn’t have to be complicated.

Have you heard of the 80-10-10 rule? It’s a simple yet effective way to manage your finances and work towards a better financial future.

Here’s how it works: live on 80% of your income, allocate 10% for giving back to others, and save the remaining 10%. This rule helps you prioritize your spending, build savings, and cultivate a spirit of generosity.

My husband and I still follow this rule. We review it every year to account for any increases and see if there’s anything we want to change. We keep the 80-10-10 rule but where it goes can sometimes vary each year. It was really hard in the beginning with very little income and a lot of expenses, but this has allowed us to build overtime.
I believe that in the Spiritual law of attraction and giving attracts receiving. We’ve been able to look back in the last 10 years and see how much our financial situation has changed.
You can take control of your finances today, too. Don’t look back 10 years from now and still be in the same place you’re in now.

By following the 80-10-10 rule, you can take small but impactful steps towards financial stability and achieving your long-term financial goals. It’s a great starting point for anyone looking to take control of their finances and build a brighter financial future.

Get rich slow and steady👇🏽

One of the ways to get ahead of your budget is to create another income stream.

We all know the internet isn’t exactly new, but boy, has it evolved especially since the pandemic! Nowadays, there are more ways than ever to earn money from the comfort of your own couch (or hammock, if that’s your vibe).

First, there’s freelancing. Ever heard of Upwork or Fiverr? They’re like treasure chests full of opportunities.

Then, there’s e-commerce. You can use platforms like Shopify and Etsy and turn your hobby into a full-blown business.

And let’s not forget about content creation. YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook – these platforms are like virtual stages where you can showcase your talents to the world.

And the one I jumped on to…. Digital marketing! I loved being entertained on these social media platforms and used to watch other people’s reels who are digital marketers and thought “oh great for them! I have a full time job and kids, I don’t have time to do all that..”
and as I watched them grow and share ways they earned money, I started to question “Why not me? Why not try? Why can’t I make the same time investment for myself?” And here we are!

After taking a leap and learned how it works, I soon realized that the possibilities are vast and that this digital world is here to stay. I felt like I’m gaining knowledge not just for myself, but for our kiddos.
It’s so much more than skills, it also has to do with your mindset about it. The 15 days course taught on both and it was worth every dollar and time spent.

If you’re interested in learning more but skeptical like I was to spend too much time or money to get started, this is the perfect course.
