This photo is Sam Rubin giving Matt Rosler and I a wedding toast in 2015 that had everyone in stitches. He and Leslie had flown in to celebrate with us on their way back from Australia.
Join us in sending our love to Leslie, Perry, Rory, Darly and Colby who have lost their dad unexpectedly today. He loved you very much. In fact, he was on the phone with me days ago bragging about his daughter Rory.
Sam wasn’t just an LA television and entertainment icon, but a friend to many, always upbeat, funny, unflappable, a true mensch, and most of all, loved his family more than anything.
Our condolences to the Rubin family and the truly millions of people who cherished him on tv as much as we all did as colleagues and friends off-camera.
Sam would go the distance for anyone he cared about. And no matter what, anyone he touched universally was better for it.
