Opening of the 39th Kadayawan sa Dabaw
LOOK: In time for President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr's third State of the Nation Address (SONA), a mass action led by Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) Southern Mindanao at Freedom Park, Roxas Avenue, as they call for the increase of living wages for Filipino workers and employees, upholding of democratic rights and protection of national sovereignty.
The protest is part of the nationwide series of mass actions under BAYAN to hold the Marcos Jr government accountable and push for reforms. Marcos Jr's SONA will start this afternoon at around 4pm.
LOOK: In today's Davao City Council session, Councilor Luna Acosta, chair of the Committee of Peace and Public Safety, filed a resolution urging the Police Regional Office (PRO) XI to address the recent sudden changes in leadership at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), which she said bypassed the city mayor's authority to choose the city police leader from PRO XI's shortlist.

LOOK: Vice President Sara Duterte leads Davao City's event for the country's 126th Independence Day today by attending the wreath laying ceremony at Rizal Park, San Pedro Square. Notably absent is her brother, Mayor Sebastian Duterte.
The Vice President did not attend the Independence Day event later on the day in Malacañang which hosted a formal lunch for foreign dignitaries.

LOOK: Davao City Councilor Edgar Ibuyan Jr, who chairs the committee of public works and highways, urges the Department of Public Works and Highways Region XI to fast track its road construction projects in the city which has caused heavy traffic, flood and accidents for motorists and citizens.
"Despite multiple call outs legislative measures being done, DPWH continues to over promise but under deliver," says Ibuyan as his committee files a resolution in today's City Council session calling out the agency.

WATCH: Paradise Island Resort Manager Julian Rodriguez clarifies they are not against having the Samal Island - Davao Connector bridge but they are rather opposed to its location as it affects the Paradise Reef which is home to corals and fishes. They have been appealing to government agencies to realign the landing site of the bridge.

LOOK: Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib released a video message regarding his 60-day suspension order from the Office of the President, claiming there was no due process for this order as there was no proper investigation or information given to him.
