Envision your organization widening your reach, motivating more people to open their hearts—and checkbooks—to support your cause or purchase your product. Whatever type of organization you represent and whatever its goals are, we can help you achieve epic results through the power of story. Stories that:

—Raise awareness and funds for Nonprofits, like our video that helped homeless vets like Jack

get shelter and rescued Erika’s children from abuse.
—Make profits for Corporations, leading Walmart executives to call our work a Ïgame changer.Ó
—Foster change for Education institutions, like our documentary that spurred California to allocate $1 billion to build badly needed new classrooms, which are helping Julio and Keisha have a brighter future.
—Inspire action for Government agencies, like our videos that shattered gender stereotypes in the construction workforce and allowed Jennifer to grab the bull by the horns and operate a crane used to help build a 265-foot wind turbine. We accomplish all this—and much more—not through displaying soulless facts with visual trickery and voiceovers, but through dramatic documentary storytelling. Stories that make your audiences feel the importance of your mission and move their hearts, minds, feet and wallets in your intended direction.

“Finding the stories in a complex social and political issue with lots of facts isn’t easy. In Invisible Kids, Art Simon was able to harvest those stories because he knows how to honor and till the landscape of human emotion.”
Dr. Justine Lewis
UCLA Anderson School of Management

How did we help raise a billion dollars for education? The Billion-Dollar Video

California faced a crisis in K-12 education. Schools were so overcrowded that the state’s future was at risk—and so were many children. More than 50 percent of kids were giving up and dropping out. Although dire, the statistics and reports failed to inspire action. The Art Simon Solution
Fortunately, the nonprofit Advancement Project hired Art Simon Productions. Our documentary, Invisible Kids, showed the need for action by portraying teachers’ struggles and students’ despair in five emotion-wrenching minutes. The video moved California legislators to approve a bond measure that resulted in $1 billion in state funding for construction of 100 new classrooms, alleviating the pressure and giving at-risk kids chances to achieve their educational potential.

“Congrats on the film. It works really well at demystifying and humanizing a complex issue. It’s no surprise that they loved it in Sacramento. And congrats to everyone on the inclusion of the $1 billion set aside for overcrowded schools!”
Richard Raya
Senior Associate
PolicyLink

“I [showed] the video around the Capitol to rave reviews. You’re wonderful. Many, many thanks for the brilliant work you’ve done this year to benefit kids in overcrowded schools.”

Ending homelessness only happens when people from all walks of life, from donors to community advocates to public and private partners, come to the table and support models that work. With over 40 years of success in ending homelessness, LA Family Housing has transformed countless lives, and the models they have innovated over the years are what is needed now more than ever to end homelessness.
To help LAFH bring on new supporters and donors, we will be telling the stories of some of LAFH’s long-term champions to encourage others to join this cause and leave a lasting legacy.

Today’s background music (RUN-DMC) while I sort thousands of B-Roll shots for a project for Century Housing. We got some really cool shots of WWII planes flying over the groundbreaking ceremony at the VA facility in west LA. Once again, we used the power of Storytelling to Protect Children and Families in Crisis: These are children in poverty trapped without legal representation in horrific cases such as domestic violence or adoption. Every year the non-profit Levitt Quinn supports over 1600 families in crisis with approximately $2 MILLION in free or low-cost legal services, which impacts close to 3000 little children per year.
To reach their fundraising goals, Levitt Quinn has partnered with Art Simon Productions to harness the power of their stories to help educate, engage and capture the hearts and minds of their supporters.
For over a decade, the stories we’ve told for LQ have initially premiered at the Stand for Justice Gala at the Skirball center in front of a huge audience of Los Angeles’ top movers and shakers. Consequently, these stories are made available to the public and used throughout the year for bringing awareness, funds and partners.

You too can turn your adversaries into believers and believers into advocates for your cause. Envision your organization widening its reach, motivating more people to open their hearts—and checkbooks—to support your cause or purchase your product.

Whichever type of organization you represent and watever its goals are, we can help you achieve EPIC RESULTS through the power of STORY.

I’ve been very fortunate to be part of LA Family Housing’s STORYTELLING team for the last decade. Moving people home from
the streets is not an easy process, and it takes a village. The documentary stories we’ve been capturing over the last ten years bring awareness and illustrate working solutions to end homelessness. Since facts alone are not enough to ignite action, the stories we tell play a KEY role in moving the hearts and minds of our community in motivating them to take action, DONATE, and join our cause. Year after year, we raise millions and house thousands; however, with nearly 70,000 individuals and families sleeping on the streets in LA County, we can’t stop, and we need everyone on board to move our neighbors HOME.

One of my favorite parts about documentary storytelling is learning from my subjects and constantly being motivated and empowered by their resilience and determination. I would like to share Aviance’s Story, a woman that overcame incredible odds and she’s now a mentor and role model lifting others out of the trenches:

On this National 211 Day, I would like to share one of my recent short documentaries that I produced for 211 LA County.
In an age of automation and artificial intelligence, it’s good to know that there is still an agency left that can deliver personalized help to people in crisis with empathy and kindness by highly trained professionals. People in crisis need someone who can listen to and guide them; the last thing they need is an automated robot or a search engine. Every year 211 LA guides over half a million people in crisis to over 50,000 social services resources.
Being part of 211 LA’s STORYTELLING team for over a decade has been a very humbling experience. Please watch and share Lewis Jackson’s story:

In honor of National 211 Day, 211 LA is releasing the inspiring video story of Iraq War Veteran Lewis Jackson. For Jackson, 211 LA is not just an organizatio...

It was such an honor to co-Host AECP’s 30th Anniversary Gala.
I’ve been very blessed to be part of the Armenian Eyecare Project’s journey since 2003. The evening brought together some of the key founders and supporters of AECP as we celebrated three decades of success. We were also able to share 4 short documentaries that evening that told the history of AECP’s success in preventing blindness in Armenia. There are very few humanitarian programs that have lasted 3 decades in Armenia, and the reason for AECP’s success is the true impact it delivers through a sustainable model that is focused on education and empowerment.

Watch highlights from the Armenian EyeCare Project's milestone 30th Anniversary Gala at the Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach, California on November 19, 2022!

Part 14: Imagine having the power to give sight to a newborn premature baby that was born blind. You can do this by donating to the Armenian Eyecare Project, I’ve seen countless numbers of miracles performed with the support of AECP’s donors, staff and doctors, and you too can be part of bringing sight to these newborn babies. Please share our story, and visit the eyecareproject.com to join our cause.

Part 13: Great news, Armenia wins 1st place. (Please SHARE OUR STORY)

08/10/2022

Part 12: Baby Michael can see now, thanks to AECP’s donors, staff and doctors that have established a center of excellence with state of the art surgical facility and highly trained physicians. Prior to this program, many babies would either go blind, or had to travel to St. Petersburg for surgery. There is no better investment in Armenia than restoring the sight of a newborn baby. (Please SHARE OUR STORY)

07/10/2022

Part 11: New Medical Book by one of Armenian Eyecare Project’s Original Fellows, Dr. Anna Hovakimyan. I’ve personally witnessed and captured so many lives that Anna has transformed with her surgical skills, and now I’m so proud that medical students as well as practicing physicians around the world use her research and book as a manual for diagnosing and treating eye disease. This book is also being used in the United States by Dr. Tony Aldave of UCLA Health to teach his medical students.

06/10/2022

Part 10: Imagine being a parent to a newborn baby, and being told “your child was born blind”…Fortunately AECP introduced a program in Armenia that now can tell parents “despite the babies blindness, we can restore their sight” This is not sci-fi, this program has put a stop to childhood blindness in Armenia due to retinopathy of prematurity.

Part 9: Have you seen our WET LAB?

04/10/2022

Part 8: Education, Education, Education, the best way to have a sustainable impact in Armenia…

29/09/2022

Part 7: It’s time to stop talking, and start doing…People in Armenia need our help. (Please SHARE OUR STORY)

26/09/2022

Part 6: Once again the need for eye care is great, but you can be part of the solution…
(Please share our story)

Part 5: Covering Armenia with state of the art eye diagnostic clinics.
