NOTICE OF CLOSURE - Museum of Northern History

The Corporation of the Town of Kirkland Lake announces the permanent closure of the Museum of Northern History, located within the Sir Harry Oakes Chateau. The final day of the museum's public operation will be on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

The Town of Kirkland Lake affirms its commitment to culture by way of implementing a new cultural strategy and would like to express its gratitude to visitors and contributors for their patronage and support of the Museum of Northern History over the years.

Enrolment for our junior Martial Arts classes is now open. We have room in our beginner class for a few more students. Details on the poster. To register click the link below. If your child is aged between 5 & 6 and you are interested in the martial arts program, message us, we have a new program in the works «Little Ninja Training Academy». We are now gauging interest.

As a response to the many requests to offer programming to a younger age group we have developed The Little Ninja Fitness Academy. Pre-registration is now open. Congratulations To Meghan Howe who placed 1st in her Masters Figure Category at the Natural Canada Pro Qualifier. It was a tough Competition to Win the renowned IFBB PRO CARD, but Meghan was very close to winning that Pro Card-hopefully next year!

The Kirkland Lake Arts Council is hoping everyone has been having a great summer so far!

Can you believe it - only 8 weeks away until the first concert of our 2024-25 Concert Series!!

Throughout the summer our volunteers have been busy finalizing the details for each concert, sending out sponsorship letters and selling tickets.

We are super excited to announce our big news!

WE ARE EXPANDING!!!! We love everything that our store currently has to offer, but there is so much more we want to offer for our community to enjoy!

Lifestyles Home Decor & More....is expanding to include:

1. Lifestyles Suites & Stay
We are currently renovating the upper level of our building to offer executive, short term rental suites for accommodation.

2. Lifestyles Social Club/Rental Space
Along with our new golf simulator, we are expanding to offer more social activities and will have a rental room for small events, such as kids birthday parties, DIY classes, fundraising events and so much more.

3. Lifestyles DIY (do-it-yourself)
We will also be offering more DIY supplies in addition to carrying the amazing Fusion Mineral Paint product line. Our vision is to create DIY kits for both adults and children wanting to create trending DIY projects/decor affordably without having to spend money on all the material and equipment required for each type of DIY project you want to create.

We are so excited to share this with you...stay tuned to learn more as we embark on our new adventures! We hope you are as excited as we are....tell us what you think!
