Roberto "Robbie" Rivera (born 1973) is a prolific house music producer and DJ born in Puerto Rico. He has an extensive catalog of original productions and remixes to his credit, ranging from Tribal to Progressive House, as well as incorporating Garage and Latin elements. He and his wife Monica Olabarrieta have homes in Miami and Ibiza. Dozens of features and excellent reviews appeared across the UK press from Music Week through to 7 (Essential House Tune), DJ (Recommended, In The Box), Mixmag (Big Tunes), M8, Ministry, Wax, I-DJ, The Mirror, and even TOTP magazine! ‘Bang’ was also play listed by The Box and MTV, and added to almost every major compilation album; the single eventually reached the top 15 in the CIN Chart following its release in August 2002. Since then, Robbie's been working away on a host of releases under various guises as well as several new releases on his JUICY MUSIC label. The hugely original ‘Feel This’ followed and was picked up by Strictly Rhythm after having had the full support of Danny Tenaglia out in Miami and Ibiza 2001. ‘Feel This’ reached Number One in the US Billboard Club Chart. "Funk-a-tron" was then picked up by Erick Morillo's Subliminal label at the end of 2001, and as such created a huge interest in Robbie, with his brand new sound securing him yet another buzz chart track, supported by Tong on Radio One and all the usual suspects. Recent underground productions have also surfaced on Defected, Fluential, Azuli, and Fuju Records. The Kolaborators “Music All Around”, another production with Billy Paul, is currently on promo on Futuregroove with mixes from Robbie and Wally Lopez. And last but not least Robbie’s own Juicy Music label gets back on track with a new deal through Serial Killer in Spain, and the first release of 2002 “The Hum Melody” has just made Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune live from the Berlin Love Parade to 1.5 Million people. Aside from DJing regularly in his hometown of Miami, Robbie DJ’s around the world. Over the coming months he will be Djing in Ibiza, Barcelona, The UK, Montreal, Vancouver, Greece, Portugal, Italy, NYC, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago & now his house PUERTO RICO.
