SELF REFLECTION
If you have too many emotions or not enough…
-Talk to yourself through voice memos.
-We don’t hear our own thoughts any more.
- Self Reflection is important.
Romans 12:2 ESV
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
2 Corinthians 13:5 ESV
Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!
1 John 1:9 ESV

Mental Health Monday: Contentment
Contentment has a lot to do with what we believe about God. The Holy Spirit will use discontentment to show us that we need to trust our loving God. When I struggle with discontentment I start believing the lie that God isn’t really for my good. He may be for the good of humanity or sometimes I even dare to think that God is only for the good of Himself.
We serve a good and gracious God. He alone will give us contentment. All the money in the world, a better apartment, more success… nothing will give us the contentment God gives His kids.
1 Timothy 6:6-19 says that some have fallen away from the faith and have “pierced themselves with many pangs” because of a love for money.
On the flip side we see that “godliness with contentment is great gain”. It is better for us to find everything we need in Jesus Christ. When we read 1 Timothy 6 it is important to know that this was written in the context of warning against “false teachers”. The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. But living in dependence on our heavenly father is great gain!
First Timothy actually ends with speaking directly to those who are rich.
“As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, BUT ON GOD, WHO RICHLY PROVIDES US WITH EVERYTHING TO ENJOY. They are to do good to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, SO THAT THEY MAY TAKE HOLD OF THAT WHICH IS TRULY LIFE” (1 Timothy 6:17-19).
Believe that you serve a God good, not because of the way your feel or by the amount of riches you have, but because God’s Word speaks into His character.
All good and perfect gifts come from Him (James 1:17).
He is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, overflowing with loyal-love, and faithfulness (Exodus 34:6, Psalm 86:14-17, Joah 4:2, Numbers 14:17-18).
He supplies your needs (Philippians 4:19).
