Today, I celebrate a man who not only shared my blood but also my dreams. My father, a beacon of unwavering support and encouragement, played an instrumental role in shaping the artist I am today. His genuine interest in my career was a testament to the boundless love and care he bestowed upon me.
I remember those cherished moments when he would surprise me with visits to my studio. Each time he stepped through that door, a warm smile would light up his face, radiating pride and admiration. He would marvel at my works, carefully observing the intricate details and skillful brushstrokes, and without fail, he'd find words of praise that touched my heart.
"Your talent knows no bounds, my child," he'd say, his eyes gleaming with pride. "You have an incredible gift that the world needs to see."
His words were like music to my ears, and they fueled my passion even further. In moments of doubt or creative blocks, he was always there to lift me up, offering invaluable advice and wisdom. "Believe in yourself, for your art speaks volumes about your soul," he'd remind me, reinforcing my self-confidence and driving me to push beyond my limits.
But it wasn't just his words that made a difference; it was his actions too. He invested time in learning about my craft, asking questions, and engaging in meaningful discussions about art and its profound impact on people's lives. His genuine curiosity and willingness to learn from me fostered a special bond that strengthened our relationship as father and child, but also as two individuals sharing a passion for creativity and expression.
His visits were moments of respite from the challenges of the world. In his presence, the weight of the world lifted, and I felt an unshakable belief in my abilities. His encouragement was a constant source of motivation, and he taught me that no dream was too grand to pursue, no ambition too lofty to achieve.
Today, as I continue my journey as an artist, I carry my father's love, support, and positive words with me, etched in the depths of my heart. Though he may no longer be by my side in the physical sense, his spirit remains a guiding force, driving me to explore new horizons and create meaningful art that leaves an indelible mark on the world.
In the tapestry of my life, my father's presence and encouragement are interwoven into every vibrant hue, every delicate stroke. And with every piece I create, I pay homage to the greatest artist of all—the one who nurtured my dreams and kindled the flames of passion within me.
Thank you, dear father, for being my greatest champion and for believing in me even when I doubted myself. Your unwavering love and interest in my career will forever inspire me to reach for the stars and paint my world with the colors of boundless creativity.
With all my love and gratitude,
[Brian Oluoch Omondi ,ABH]

The misinformation around Interlectual property has been a big problem even to a big percentage of right holders and the administrators in the field. Also, it is only in Kenya where the public know more than the professionals.. Ujuaji flani sitawahi kuelewa. All the same, this is an opportunity for lessons to be learnt and hopefully will set precedence to better IP understanding. Fanaticism aside, once again are martyrs whose only mistake is pursuing what is rightfully theirs on behalf of all of us.. (Do you ever take a moment back and ask yourself why, or your ignorant trigger happy fingers are always itching to stab back in a space you understand totally nothing about.) !
