I don’t normally share family on my feed but in honor of a very special birthday, I wanted to take a second to share my mom.

A mother who has supported my biggest dreams, taught me how to work hard and has shown me what it means to truly care about people even when life gets hard.

I’ll save the truly sappy stuff for her birthday card.

But I wouldn’t be who I am without her. Happy Birthday Mom! 💕💕

If someone could tell 20 year old Savvy, sitting in her room over Christmas break feeling absolutely lost in life. Pre-med - a major she chose because she felt like her purpose wasn’t big enough. And completely unsure of what she should do next.

Watching One Tree Hill on a loop (my fave at the time) and realizing that I wanted to do that. I wanted to create. I wanted to work in film & television. I wanted to tell stories that touched other people’s lives.

If someone could tell her that today, at 34, she would sit in a theater in her little hometown watching a movie HER FRIENDS MADE.

She would lose her mind.

& .l.blanford I’m so freaking proud of you both. You have always been the kindest most hardworking humans I know. And no one deserves this moment more than you.

The casting. The locations. The witty moments that will certainly go over the kids a heads but dive deep for the nostalgia we all need.

The pure nod to Sandlot was 👩🏼‍🍳💋

There is nothing quite as magical as seeing the humans you spent some incredible tough days with win on such a high level.

WELL DONE 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Go see . In theaters now. It’s the perfect family/light horror movie with a bit of Goonies & Sandlot energy.

I could literally cry I’m so proud.

My favorite things about right now:
pc - such a cute little spot for a cozy drink or for girls night. We did their candle making class in July and it was so fun!

- mocktails and churros. You need them both! The churro flavor changes regularly but they always hit. Perfect little sweet treat.

- the new space is DIVINE. And they’ll be launching mat classes in the OG downtown space too. If you’re a girlie in her Pilates era, definitely worth checking out.

Today marks 6 years since Hurricane Michael ravaged my hometown. And I’ll never forget the experience.

I was fortunate enough to evacuate. My job was caretaker for my then 89 year old step father. But my mother wasn’t so lucky.

I remember exactly where I was standing when she told me the windows were blowing out of the hospital she was required to be at for work during the storm.

The days that followed were filled with so many emotions:

Worry - for every friend who was on a cell phone network that didn’t have service for days after making loved ones unreachable

Gratitude - for the friend who drove 3 hours round trip just to bring my mom ice and a hot meal (as I was still securing supplies and a bigger car to get back)

So much love - from the people who came from all over to help get our city back on its feet

It took a month for us to get power and water again. Mostly due to damage caused by trees that meant we had to run new pipes to the road and get a new power line from our house to the city line.

But every step of the way, there were people to help.

I know today the world feels a lot different for millions of people. Those recovering in North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Those who are taking in all they survived last night while adjusting to the struggles ahead.

It’s a lot.

I know that there will be a lot of people reaching out initially. People want to know their loved ones are safe.

But can I say as someone who has lost way too many humans and experienced a life changing weather occurrence:

Your friends will need you just as much in the coming weeks while navigating their new normal, dealing with insurance, figuring out how or where they will work, etc.

Today we help people get their feet back underneath them but the next few weeks we prop them up so that someday they can walk again on their own.

You are not alone friends. 💕 to all who are walking a hardship known and unknown today - my DMs are open.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

The perfect way to start a Saturday morning. And a reminder that while things get better with time, no one ever truly forgets those weeks after a storm.

I am so grateful to see how this city is thriving nearly 5 years after Hurricane Michael. But the weeks without water, the days of trying to find the people you love because cell service isn’t an option, the families who lost everything. . .

My heart absolutely breaks for those in Tennessee and the Carolinas right now.

If you can help and feel led to, I’ve added a resource in my stories for LOCAL places you can directly help so you know it’s going to the people who need it most.

I hope if you’re someone who is displaced, this a reminder of the good that comes from life’s toughest storms. But also that you know I will not forget you.

If there are more ways we can help, please let me know in the comments below 💕

Of all of the movies I’ve felt conflicted about watching, there was something about It Ends With Us (the press drama, the obsession fans seem to have with Colleen & her work, the cast choice, the director choice, etc) that left me feeling like I needed to look deeper.

Like many, my first impression was do we really need to take a book that talks about domestic violence and turn it into a movie? Do we really need to SEE that? And truthfully, there are many stories that depict complicated emotions and experiences and turn them into something that is easy for people to romanticize. I often think of 13 Reasons Why that way. But that’s another day, another blog post, and a whole other discussion.

Now before we get into today’s chat let me give the full disclaimer that I have not read the books. I don’t plan to (unless you babes tell me otherwise). And I don’t think it’s necessary for the purpose of today’s conversation. The topic of a romance novel with stronger ties to domestic violence was a major turn off for me in reading the book as well as other personal reasons. But I’ve seen the movie. I have thoughts. So let’s process it together. Did we really need an It Ends With Us adapted into a movie?

Since I originally coined the idea of 75 Love 2.5 years ago, I’ve gotten requests to create a more concrete version. Ask and you shall receive. It’s officially time for us to do our first round of 75 love together.

Now if you’ve never heard of 75 Love, don’t worry. I created this reset with the intention that there’s a power in being aware of our choices. And learning how to support ourselves and making the most aligned choices for us is insanely powerful vs just checking things off a list daily for 75 days. I go into the why and deeper aspects of each thing we will be doing for the reset. But let’s go over the checklist and a few other things first so you can get ready to transform your life!

75 Love is created with the expectation that we are reconnecting with ourselves. There is no failing at 75 Love.

If I could send only one blog post back in time to my younger self, it would be today’s.

As we so often discuss, I was one of those people who wasn’t truly prepared for adulthood or moolah. Savings. Investing. Finding ease with $$$. That didn’t exist in my house. Add in a career choice or two that wasn’t exactly traditional or guaranteed a consistent paycheck – and the learning curve for financial independence was steep.

But over the last 4 years, I’ve invested in a higher education in all things $$$. And there is a lot to be learned. Moolah like dieting and health is filled with a LOT of opinions. People will give you all kinds of advice for what you should or shouldn’t be doing with your money. This isn’t that post.

It is however the tools that would have transformed my life 10 years ago. These are the tools that can empower you to start making changes now and don’t require an advanced degree. They will also help you develop the relationship you need with $$$ to continue to grow into the wealthiest most supported version of yourself. Truthfully, these are the tools that have changed my life.

This is the post that I would mail back in time to my 16-year-old self with the essentials. 5 books you need to read about money

For years, I told myself that my first luxury purchase would be a pair of Louboutins. I’d eyed them for years on my favorite celebrities - red carpet looks, late night tv appearances - there was just something about the red sole heel that felt like a statement of next level to me. So when I finally invested in my first pair in 2021, I was a bit shocked by my reaction after trying them on....

Louboutin heels are iconic for a reason. But are they really worth the investment and upkeep? Let's dig into it!

I will never forget the conversation. The moment. The impact it had on younger me the first time I was required to sit with a nutritionist. To be honest, I didn’t handle it well when I was pulled aside in middle school and the word “obesity” was dropped. Fear. Anger. Confusion. All of the emotions that can be overwhelming at any age gathered together to create this moment of terror....

Today Savvy share's her experience working with a functional nutritionist and building a healthy relationship with food.

As soon as the dates for Bridgerton season 3 were announced, there was never a doubt in my that we would be throwing our own Bridgerton Tea Party. I mean really, we've waited so long it felt like an international holiday at this point. But as a girl who has dietary restrictions (gluten and dairy-free life), I knew that our tea party needed to blow all the others I'd experienced out of the water....

Because the new season means it's time for you to plan your own Bridgerton Tea Party. Today Savvy shows you how easy it is to plan your own!
