Won’t You Meet My Neighbor

Hello! My name is Jen Romanat and I am hostess of the Won’t You Meet My Neighbor podcast, where I have conversations with my neighbors and hopefully some of yours as well. In a world that is more interconnected than ever, thanks to the Internet, it’s sort of shocking to realize that in so many other ways we more disconnected than ever. We often just lean on our own frame of reference and don’t really take the time to hear other people’s stories outside of ourselves. Maybe it’s because we’re too busy or too wrapped up in our own paradigm, I’m not sure.Whatever the reason, overall, we seemed to have become less interested in one another. So, my hope is that the Won’t You Meet My Neighbor podcast will garner the spirit of Mister Rogers, in taking the time to be curious and to listen, letting the conversations breathe, hopefully inspiring others to have similar conversations. Unlike Mister Rogers there may be a fair dose of saltiness and humor infused into this podcast because that is often the perspective of which I come from, but the backbone will remain true, curiosity without judgment. These conversations will include some of my many amazing neighbors, near and far (because I’m using the term “neighbor” loosely), some of which are authors, community makers and shakers, artists, political figures, professionals of all kinds, and those who want to share who they are and what their story is because everyone has their own unique vantage point in life, and this includes you.

“As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has – or ever will have – something inside that is unique to all time.”

Fred Rogers
