The Rusty Hub Exploring the sagas of crapcan racing Over the course of a race weekend, a car is subjected to being pushed far beyond its original design capabilities.

Simply put, crapcan racing is endurance racing for cars that cost $500 (not including safety equipment and some other excepted items). Add in the fact that most of the cars are at least 15 years old, and you then find out that many teams and team members are also pushed far beyond their original design capabilities. This site's primary purpose is to tell the stories of those cars and teams who hav

e undergone the torture test of a crapcan weekend or seven. With most races featuring at least 40 entries (and occasionally more than 100) and at least four crew members per car, every event involves hundreds of stories. A few are tales of victory and a few tell of defeat. But most involve a combination of failure, redemption, persistence, embarrassment, terror, unmitigated fury, unceasing laughter, field expedience, amateur firefighting, re-failure, re-redemption, justice, astonishment, and exhaustion. And kitty litter. Usually lots of that. The primary crapcan racing series are the 24 Hours of LeMons and Chump Car World Series. Some teams run one series, some run the other, and a lot run both. This blog tells stories of both series with equal aplomb.
