There's been a big uproar over the Yasuke samurai character in the new Assassin's Creed. It's culminated in this cartoon spreading around social media.
While there is little historical evidence Yasuke was an actual samurai warrior, he was a skilled warrior and body guard so this cartoon is inaccurate. Yasuke came to Japan as a warrior body guard for a Jesuit missionary and stayed when his employer left the island. He's also known to have beheaded Oda Nobunaga to complete seppuku and worked with real ninja assassins also in Nobunaga's employ.
The event depicted at the bottom is a murder of a Thai elder in San Francisco by a young teenager.
Excellent Smithsonian article is below in the comments.
Anti-woke doesn't need to be revisionist history, which this entire kerfuffle most definitely is.
