We are fighting for something and it's NOT to be manhandled back in time to a still totally fabricated paradigm of having to come out as who we are. We came out as who we are, no one needed to tell us to. Telling us to come out of an oppressive notion of "if you are this you are born into a closet & must let us know when you come.out lest we encounter you in your rawness and haven't had time to prep the doomsday sayers, who will only tell you you are going to hell for holding someone's hand if, you are stupid enough to let them see you do that ?

The zen of automobiles

I long for the infinite
Look to infinity:
That place where the horizon meets
The lip of the earth
Where sky eats its way into the oneness

I yearn for the long, straight road
Where you can gather pace
& merge into the sky
Almost flying
Through the barren winter landscape
Where everything is sodden & bare

Not me though – I am alive
Zooming through this picture
Of myself
Running from true terror
Behind me, I leave but scatters
Debris from the hubris of wrong choices

My choices, you see I made them
Not my conditioning
Nor my upbringing
But the product of both
& that part of me that would always be me
essentially, biologically, without all the rest

Immaterial, so be it
Not everything can mate with matter
But to be immaterial would be to
Have no connection to the ancient mother
& what would anything ‘be’ if not from the
womb of the earth, the sun, the moon, the stars?

If not the womb of the universe then what?
What matters, is what is inside you truly
I cannot pretend to know the truth anymore
Than any other, for the ‘truth’ is only what we know it to be
Our truth, the truth of our soul
Gasping for meaning

& yet you glimpse it and it is gone
Here – now – gone
Like the very breath of the invisible
Was the very breath of the cosmos
And the breath of every living thing
Material and immaterial!

I looked you in the eye
that ever-longing look
locked into eternal bliss
-- not the bliss of a gynmastic conversation
but the bliss of an ever-lasting memory
Your thoughtful face embraces
the calm of my deeper being
Its not what you wear
-- its what's in your heart
; sad boy blue
stripes of transgression
in a fusion of isolation
you are my honesty imbued
with the bitter taste of bad breath
yet you breath thru me still
like a winter's breeze
in the cold world
basking in sunlight

Three problems are put by nature to the mind. What is matter? Whence is it? and Whereto? The first of these questions only, the ideal theory answers. Idealism saith: matter is phenomenal, not a substance. Idealism acquaints us with the total disparity between the evidence of our own being and the evidence of the world's being. The one is perfect; the other, incapable of any assurance; the mind is a part of the nature of things; the world is a divine dream from which we may presently awake to the glories and certainties of the day. Idealism is a hypothesis to account for nature by other principles than those of carpentry and chemistry. Yet if it only deny the existence of matter it does not satisfy the demands of the spirit. It leaves God out of me. It leaves me in the splendid labyrinth of my perceptions to wander without end. Then the heart resists it, because it balks the affections in denying substantive being to men and women. Nature is so pervaded with human life that there is something of humanity in all and in every particular. But this theory makes nature foreign to me and does not account for the consanguinity which we acknowledge to it

I am the tightrope spun across the abyss

I am a becoming

My life is mine alone to risk

Mine in overcoming

Contradictions that sit uncomfortably

Within the ravenous mine

Hollows of impregnation

Sunyata – the pregnant mime

‘Others’ will always eat off finer tables

Devour more beastly feasts

they have every right to do so

Forget your envy – for it is misplaced

Who do you see in those projections?

Certainly not the interior of those souls

Whose images we desecrate

In our demolishing hunger

For more distractions

Other lives to lead

Whilst these tortured ones

Go around thinking that

Because a mass of lost souls

Responded to the pain in their work

That they were somehow above

Existential angst.

What angst must it be though

That forces one to annihilate

One’s sacred privacy

& authenticity

By inviting the world to

Look at you

You forget to really

Look at yourself

Happy birthday to my brother

Happy birthday to my brother

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway. ~Kent M. Keith

There is no reward
No solace
No restful bower of sleep

Only the continued
exertion
of a flailing whimsicality

A will, that has been
Molested
and turns upon itself

Brings only woe
to these
restless ones

Whim, will and woe
So goes
The Schopenhauerian tale

Of man, suffering man
Ashamed
of his own absurdity:

Ruled by desire
of the wholly
illustrious epiphenomena of life.

The emotionally intelligent person knows that love is a skill, not a feeling, and will require trust, vulnerability, generosity, humor, sexual understanding, and selective resignation. The emotionally intelligent person awards themselves the time to determine what gives their working life meaning and has the confidence and tenacity to try to find an accommodation between their inner priorities and the demands of the world. The emotionally intelligent person knows how to hope and be grateful, while remaining steadfast before the essentially tragic structure of existence.
The emotionally intelligent person knows that they will only ever be mentally healthy in a few areas and at certain moments, but is committed to fathoming their inadequacies and warning others of them in good time, with apology and charm. There are few catastrophes, in our own lives or in those of nations, that do not ultimately have their origins in emotional ignorance. ~Alain de Botton

I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow from the grass I love

If you want me again look for me under your bootsoles

You will hardly know who I am or what I mean
Burning shall be good health to you nevertheless
And filter and fibre your blood.

Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged.
Missing me one place search another
I stop some where waiting for you

Our honourable leader has been trying to rebrand his community without the insults and ignorance. Unfortunately not one single man in this city seems to be able to stop him from iconoclasming the whole ungodly lot of us all if we allow what the warning is saying. That basically though some of us are surviving. None of us are unmarked. Everyone is a candidate and all will be extrapolated Into a haunting I am trying to contextualise as probably my fault due to my attempts to re issue the causal factor to the original deviants who decided to reproach themselves so much a whole class of people on this planet will never know the exquisite funeral of the man allowed to fight for fellow man. They made us into man who fights with everyman and denies it and waits for a sage individual to save the rest from most of the radioactive waste currently spilling from the epicentre of.disease control... a crystal triangle of iviscerating prohibitive cancellations of a plethora of lifelines dependent on the continuation of one hence why I am not for nothing trying to find comrades to assist me tonight

Wonder, how we wonder, where the music is coming from..

From stage to stage, hopping through imaginary worlds. Getting lost and getting found.

Loads to explore.

Well done Meadows in the Mountains Festival

Good things take time…

Our Environmental Impact Report of our last edition is finally here to show to the world.
Important information that gives us learning and tools for improvement in how to reduce, reuse and regenerate.

A few highlights:

🌳 We planted 925 trees last year. That was enough to compensate for all flights from the artists and the crew. All trees were planted in three spots in Bulgaria. At the festival ground you’ll find a fresh baby orchard these days.

🍎 Of all our waste, 65% is used as compost to spread over our land and especially our baby orchard.
If the fruit is ready, you can choose one fruit to pick. Be mindful please.

🥂 We all love Prosecco but this gave us so much glass waste that last year we started serving them from big barrels, which saved 1,334 kilos of glass.

🧃 Less good news: our landfill has increased over the year before.
This has various reasons. One reason is that guests bring single use plastic to the festival. Again, think hard when you pack. Do a challenge and live plastic free for a week or more. We would love to hear your learnings, ideas etc.

For the full report check our website!

And for the record:
This document is for pros in the industry, for festival lovers, for eco-partners. We hope you can take the time to have a good look and get inspired to spread the learnings. If you want the master plan of what we’ve created and calculated over the years, please let us know. We’ve learned a lot by doing, no need for others to reinvent the wheel. If you have questions, please get in touch with [email protected]
Also if you want to be part of this team. They are still looking for volunteers!
